2018-2019 Happy Planner Girl New Releases
Alright y’all, it has literally been in my planner for the last two weeks… that the new Happy Planner Girl RELEASE is today! I have been sooo excited all day! Especially because I only read 4pm and not 4pm pacific… so I was two hours early to the party.
Boo.
Oh well, that was definitely my own fault. Either way I WAS SUPER EXCITED to see the entire reveal… especially after waiting an additional two hours.
There are four different collections: Glam Girl, Trendsetter, Day Dreamer and Goal Getter. Each one has two classic sized planners and a mini… along with all the matching accessories! I’m in love.
DIY Pet Bowl Stand with Storage!
If y’all have been with me for a minute or two (or even if you’re brand new and have just glanced at my about page) you know that my little family is made up of my hubby and our three flurry companions. Our little yorkie and two kitties are always getting into trouble and half of that trouble involves food of some kind. Dinner time at our house is kind of like a wild stampede… which is crazy for a herd of small animals (none of which weigh over 9 pounds!).
We switched from glass food bowls to plastic (after Jasper broke the few glass ones we’d had for years). Then when he kept knocking the plastic ones on the floor we moved the bowls to the floor… which worked for a while but here’s the second problem. My hubby. I’d say Jasper takes after his daddy but ones a man and ones a cat… Trevor keeps stepping in the plastic cat bowls on the floor. Which completely shatters them seeing as he wears a size 14 shoe and has the gracefulness of a newborn gazelle! So allllll of this is to say… we need a new pet bowl stand.
One that holds non-breakable bowls off the floor but that can’t be knocked over.

13 Best Neutral Paint Colors
Last year I spent a couple hours predicting the the most popular neutrals for 2016 based on the best selling colors of 2015! I know… smart right? We’ll predict where we’re going to by analyzing where we’ve been.
With that in mind I’ve rounded up our 13 most sold neutral colors from the good old Sherwin Williams to see where the trends are taking us! Last year was A LOT of gray and a little beige, according to the polls (the interweb, customers and sw itself) the new year will bring even more Taupe and Greige then ever before.
Quick and Easy DIY Tufted Bench Cushion
It’s been several months since we broke out the fabric and created new slipcovers for the chairs in out kitchen! I looked at several complementary fabrics and then decided that using the same fabric would unite the bench and chairs together… so I started on my quick and easy DIY tufted bench cushion makeover!
Out of all the projects I’ve done for our little kitchen makeover I think this tufted cushion was the easiest. Thank goodness… I needed an easy project!

5 Tips for Decorating a Combined Living & Dining Room
Today we’re tackling the age old delima… what do I do when I have one room that needs to serve two purposes? How do I go about decorating a combined room?! Why?
Because a sweet reader wrote in asking about this exact predicament:
How to Resize Printables for Any Planner
So last week I introduced you to my new Happy Planner… and the Life Planner printables I created to match my Free Wedding Binder! I’m using the classic sized Happy Planner but as you know planners are like people… they come in all shapes and sizes! Which means we need to learn how to resize printables to fit any planner.
My planner might be a completely different size from your planner… some people like little planners they can throw in their purse while others have the BIG planner they can leave open on their desk. I am loving the classic size… I guess I’m like Goldilocks it’s juuust right!
2017 Color of the Year, 6 Examples of Poised Taupe
Last year I shared how much I absolutely adore all things blush… and you all know how much I love gray. It’s kind of the perfect paint color (especially sherwin williams light french gray… it’s kind of my jam)… but this year poised taupe is where it’s at.
With the downfall of beige in the last few years everyone has been falling in love with gray… it was everyone’s favorite new neutral. Don’t get me wrong gray is still hugely popular (heck it’s one of the main colors in my new kitchen makeover) but where do all of the beige lovers go?
Painted Kitchen Cabinet Makeover
Well y’all it’s officially the first week of the spring One Room Challenge hosted by Calling It Home. If you missed my neutral mood board from last week go take a quick sneak peek. Then it’s time to get our hands dirty with a little painted kitchen cabinet makeover!
Maybe you remember me gushing about how gorgeous our light gray cabinets were going to be… you know just last week with the mood board I put together for this space. Well y’all this week is proof positive that things happen and paint truly looks different in different spaces.
Our walls are painted Sherwin Williams Online so I picked Site White (the lightest color on the strip) for the cabinets. On the chip it looks like a light gray but on the wall… definitely white! Luckily I wanted white cabinets and had gone with gray because of the white subway tile we had picked out.

When we were planning our kitchen makeover most of the steps fell into place soooo easily… painting the cabinets, adding a gorgeous glass backsplash… especially my new chrome faucet. The one thing I couldn’t decide on was what to do with our hideous red counters!

One Easy Tip for Perfect Chalkboard Letters that even Non-Crafters can Master!!
In the midst of our entire kitchen makeover I had a million big projects to finish but at the end of the day it came down to one tiny little project. Putting a bit of beautiful hand lettering on the chalkboard my hubby gave me for my birthday last year! Unfortunately I’m not the best with a piece of chalk… some ladies can free hand beautiful letters and intricate designs but my chalk looks like it was welded by a five year old. Which is why I learned one easy tip for perfect chalkboard letters!
It’s so easy, so simple, you’ll wonder why you’ve never tried it before… and the best part? I’ve included a free print file for you to try your hand at replicating the exact chalk design I used! Still not sure? I’ve included a printable for those of you who just want to print this baby out!
Painted Desk Makeover
Well the craft room is definitely coming along. After organizing the entire space, building a new bookcase and adding new storage the next step is a little painted desk makeover! A coat of blush paint will add a feminine touch while giving this gorgeous old desk new life.

3 Quick and Easy Ways to Organize your Bathroom
Our house is sooooo close to being finished! In all the best ways, the kitchen makeover is finished, the craft rooms looking gorgeous, the living room could use a few touch-ups but for the most part it’s all set! I can walk from room to room and enjoy every space in my home which is a novel concept around here. The one space that hasn’t had any work is the master bathroom. It’s a little space and no one sees it but the hubs and I so I tend to close the door and ignore it… even though it would be nice to be finished!
So I re-routed my shopping trip from the toilet paper aisle to the bathroom decor aisle.
