Today we’re combining two of my favorite things: no sew gnomes and felt flowers for the cutest Bunny Gnome Wreath you’ve ever seen! This Easter won’t know what hit it!
If you are starting from scratch you’ll need a medium and small sized bunny gnome (you can follow my tutorial for no-sew bunny gnomes here) and a mixture of felt flowers. You can follow my rolled felt flower tutorial here or check out my favorite 20 felt flowers here for a fun variety.
You’ll want flowers in all different shapes and sizes (even colors) so make sure to make a few! I like to make a bunch and keep them on hand… you never know when you’ll need a few felt flowers for a project.
Once you have all your supplies we’ll get started!
Supplies:
Step 1: Add the Larger Elements
In this case we’re going to start by adding our larger elements. That’s our adorable Easter Bunny Gnomes and the Happy Easter banner!
I picked up a fun (but fairly plain) wreath form at the store and started by adding my Happy Easter banner across the front. I tied it securely on either side but avoided using glue as I want to be able to re-purpose this wreath for other seasons.
Likewise instead of gluing my bunny gnomes to the wreath I simply balanced them on the interior portion of the wreath… this feels a little flimsy now but as we add our felt flowers they’ll be pretty sturdy.
And without gluing them in we’ll be able switch these little bunny gnomes out for my Valentine’s Day Gnomes, the Christmas Gnomes or even the Halloween Gnomes! A wreath for any season!!
Step 2: Add Floral Wire to your Felt Flowers
In another effort to NOT glue things all over my wreath I added a length of floral wire to the back of all my felt flowers. This was fairly straight forward… I cut a length of wire and then hot glued it to the back of the felt flower.
Then I cut a small felt circle and hot glued that over the floral wire to secure everything. Like a little floral wire felt sandwich!
This way we can add our flowers wherever we like on our wreath… and easily remove them when the time comes.
Step 3: Add your Felt Flowers to your Wreath
Now it’s time to put all those pieces of floral wire to work! Start by adding your larger flowers in strategic spots (to hold the bunny gnomes in place) and then fill in with the smaller flowers.
Make sure to wrap the wires securely around the wreath so that they won’t fall off and will stay where you place them. Once all your flowers are in place go ahead and turn the wreath over and give each wire a final twist for extra security (I used a pair of jewelry pliers for this).
Then you’re ready to hang your wreath!
Mine looks so cute on the front door!
