At this point in my home buying journey I have toured dozens and dozens of houses: both traditionally built homes and manufactured houses… and I’ve fallen in love with the Lula Mae. This is a manufactured house by Buccaneer and it. is. beautiful.
I am currently buying this little house so if you’re interested in learning about the difference between a mobile home and a manufactured house, all the changes you can make to these homes (I counted today and we’re making a total of 22 changes!), or following along with the entire journey then stay tuned!
Check out my 1 month walk through of my new Lula Mae Farmhouse.
This specific house has the cutest finishes (shiplap walls, beams on the ceiling, standard tray ceiling in the kitchen… the list goes on) and it’s the perfect size for me (all my dogs and my business!). It’s a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house with an open living room, dining room and kitchen.
Plus there’s a butler’s pantry, laundry room and little desk cutout i the hallway!
The entire house is 1832 sq ft and I am OBSESSED with it!
Ready to check out all the pretty pictures? This is a model house in Dothan, AL so if you go to check out a Lula Mae at a different lot it will probably be decorated differently… plus not all models are finished the same. Some are completely put together while others are simply placed side by side… either way you can get a great feel for how the house is actually going to look.
Living Room
This living room is HUGE! It’s 18.7 X 18.6 and hard to photograph since you can’t fit the entire room in the photo… I’ll need to break out my wide angle lens for this room once I move in.
The little chandelier, the sconces, the entertainment bar on the wall and the shiplap wall are all standard features… which is awesome. The beams are an option you can add and there’s an optional fireplace as well. So you can really add to this room if you want to.
As an alabama girl I’m leaving out the fireplace but I’m definitely getting those beams!
Kitchen & Dining Room
The living room goes right into the kitchen and dining room which makes this little house perfect for having company over or spending time as a family.
Everything you see in the pictures comes standard with the house: the tray ceiling, the light fixtures, the appliances, the stainless steal sink… all of it.
Of course, there are a few changes you can make (that are built in options… you can really change just about anything you can think of). The dining room can extend to the edge of the kitchen (you would lose that portion of the porch), and the 3 windows over the sink can be changed to a two window option with larger floating shelves on either side.
Of course, if you dig a little deeper into Buccaneer’s website you’ll find that there are even more changes you can make if you want to: like the faucet, sink, hanging lights and backsplash.
Butler’s Pantry & Laundry Room
Look at this tiny little butler’s pantry! It’s right off the kitchen and the natural throughway into the laundry room (where the back door is).
I love all the added storage this little room gives you (and that kitchen already has a million cabinets!). The laundry room is large enough for a large washer and dryer with an area at the back of the room for a large freezer (or built in dog kennel if you have as many dogs as I do!).
Hallway Desk
Here’s a little extra for you… this little hidden desk that’s tucked away in the hallway. It’s between the living room and the bedrooms and it’s adorable but fairly useless for me.
I’ll use one of the two spare bedrooms as an office so I don’t need a hallway desk. BUT it would be amazing if you had children in the bedrooms and no where else for a little desk to go.
Bedroom 2 & 3
The second and third bedroom are nothing special.. they’re decent sizes at 11.2 x 10.7 and 11.5 x 14.4. Plus they both have tiny little walk in closets. In my case I’ll use one for an office/craft room and one for a guest room.
Score!
Master Bedroom
Ready for the master?! This bedroom is huge… and don’t even get me started on the bathroom!
The actual master bedroom is 14.11 x 18.6 so it’s only a little bit smaller than the living room. It’s rectangular though with large windows on one side and smaller dormer windows on the long wall.
It has a decent size walk in closet and adorable barn doors that lead into the bathroom… ready for the money shot?
Master Bathroom
Now here’s the jewel of the house… this bathroom is bigger than the third bedroom at 15.11 x 10.7. Which is CRAZY!
I absolutely love the tub and the storage is amazing… but I’m not sure what I’ll do with all that space in front of the tub.
Do a dance?
Who knows!
Either way the oil rubbed bronze really stands out in the bathroom and I can’t wait to set it up.
Word of caution though: for some reason the two windows in this bathroom are the only two windows in the house where the blinds are not included.
Because who wants blinds in front of their bathtub?
So make sure you have them add the blinds in this room! Trust me, you’ll want them!
That’s it folks… the entire house! I cannot wait to show you the entire process of buying this home, having it built and decorating it from top to bottom.
Stay tuned for next weeks post where I go over all 20 changes I am personally making to this house!
The large area in front of the tub is begging for a plush carpet and an upholstered bench. Somewhere to sit and paint your toenails or put on lotion.
I already have a pretty rug (although it’s not as plush as the one you’re describing… hum maybe I should re-think this?) Either way it will be a great spot to relax or get ready! I can’t wait!
