We're Moving! Happily Ever After Etc

We’re Moving

Hey y'all

Remember when I told y’all that we would have to be moving soon? Well the call finally came through! It’s official! In fact as y’all are reading these words I am at my new store… working my first day! Last Monday my district manager called with the news that we would be making the move to Andalusia to start my new job as Assistant Manager.

Didn’t see that one coming did ya?

If you’ve been following along you know that we thought we were going to Montgomery. Nope. Change of plans. Oh and the timeline?ย One week.ย One week before I had to be in Andalusia ready to report for work. Of course that’s way too soon to move our entire house… but that’s coming next.

We spent Saturday in Andalusia looking for houses. I love our house so much that I convinced myself that if we had to move we would at least move up (house wise). I wanted a bigger closet and a bigger bathroom! That would make it all better!

It’s not looking good folks.

Andalusia looks like a sweet little town with just enough modern comforts to not be out in the boonies… but not enough stores to get us in trouble.

We won’t be going on any shopping sprees around here y’all.

There weren’t too many houses to look at and one was so horrible I didn’t even take pictures… just turned around and got out as fast as I could! Otherwise there were two options I could live with.

The first one was a big while house with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The inside was definitely workable… I liked the tile floor and the large master bedroom. The downside? It was in a semi-sketchy side of town (yes that’s a thing)… and after our tour the realtor let us know that pets were an absolute no-go… so this one turned out to be a fluke.

IMG_3704 IMG_3696 IMG_3695 IMG_3689

The second house turned out to be in great condition… a three bedroom one and a half bath with a fenced in yard. I took horrible pictures of this one so y’all will have to forgive me. It has a large extra room (that I forgot to take pictures of!) so we would use that room for the living room and turn the living room into our office.

We ended up putting an application in on the second house… hopefully that means we’ll get better pictures for you once we’re accepted! My mind was just frazzled when we did our walk through… I didn’t even get a shot of the master bedroom!

This next week or two is going to be crazy with all the stress of packing, moving and working a new job. Luckily I know several amazing ladies who have agreed to guest post this upcoming week… so y’all won’t miss a beat during this move! Make sure to make them welcome won’t you?

Thanks for understanding… I can’t wait to show you our new house… UNPACKED!

PS Thank you to all of you sweet readers who remembered my hubby’s and my first wedding anniversary yesterday! We had an amazing day despite all the moving… here’s to a lifetime more!

Thank you for the prayers Cheyenne. I grew up military so I’m use to moving… but now the civilian way! I’m use to the packers coming in, boxing it up and taking it all away! Now we have to pack it all ourselves? No bueno! Haha… it will all work out in the end!

Keeping my fingers crossed on that house for you! Moving can be so hard, especially when you have to leave something or somewhere that you love so much! But I’m sure that you’ll make that new space your own in no time. ๐Ÿ™‚

We’re looking at houses now, too! One that we really wanted is already under contract by another person, we were super bummed when we found out but now I know we weren’t meant to live there ๐Ÿ™‚
Praying for your transition! I’m looking forward to seeing pictures! (I’m also trying to be positive about our future packing/unpacking that we will have to do :))

That’s so stressful! Even if it’s not meant to be it really sucks! We ended up getting a house I’m not in love with because it accepts pets… we will make it work! Keeping my fingers crossed that you find a place you love!
