When it comes to painting your home the very first step is picking the perfect paint color! Of course, picking the perfect color can be quite the ordeal… and it all starts with what color you’re going with!
We went over my favorite fail safe gray color already but y’all asked about WHITE! Which means it’s time to whip out the old color chart and take a look.
Of course, there are a bunch of whites to pick from: cool, warm, slightly yellow, slightly red… all whites tend to lend themselves somewhere after all.
When it comes to whites my absolute favorite is SW 7008 Alabaster. It has just a touch of gold to it (literally a touch) so that it’s not stark white but still reads as crisp and clean. The gold warms it up a touch while still working with cool colors.

Another fun fact? Joanna Gaines has used Alabaster so much it’s one of her favorite colors! She painted the main living areas of her own farmhouse Alabaster and she continually uses it in homes she designs on Fixer Upper as well. Which is kind of killer.
