Scrapbooking Treasured Memories and Inside a Coke Bottle with Happily Ever After, Etc.

Scrapbooking: Treasured Memories & Inside a Coke Bottle

Hey y'all

So as I am sitting here wondering how long I can get away with NOT unpacking my house and wishing my craft room would hurry up and be done already… I realized. I’ve talked a good talk about scrapbooking, I’ve shown you the dream desk I would like to scrapbook at… but I’ve never shown you any of my scrapbook pages!

Silly me!

I have dozens of completed pages sitting in albums… not being seen. One of my absolute favorite things to do is sit down and look through the albums. Of course it’s even better if I’m sitting down to show someone my albums! Nothing makes something better then sharing it with friends, family and those you love.

So here are two pages from my college scrapbook! The first is a funky little page that I made Senior year! One of my good friends, Ashley, is a tiny little bitty thing and (typically) a very serious person. Well finals in college can make serious people do silly things… like climb inside a giant recycling coke bottle in an attempt to scare your friends. We helped her climb inside and she waited (not very quietly) until groups of people would walk by… then she would scare them. It was a horribly silly thing to do… and that’s one of the reasons why it’s such a fun memory!

I love to use embellishments on my pages… flowers are pretty typical but this page has a host of unusual embellies! The little coke bottle cap letters were a nice touch and the metal aspect of those led me to include other metal items. Like the metal wire or the metal sheet that was die cut into adorable little butterflies! At least I thought they were adorable!

My second page is a little snapshot into my family… as they were in my college days. On the left you can see my parents and I in my college dorm. They would come several times a year to watch me cheer and this was a football game Sophomore year! On the right is the rest of my little family… my younger brother Will and all of our pets! You can see the two beagles we grew up with (Scouty is on the left and Belle is second from the right) as well as my mom’s dog Princess Peach (the long haired miniature dachshund that is second from the left) and my kitty cat Lily. You might have seen her on my about page… she was a present from my parents on my sixteenth birthday so she appears in a lot of my scrapbook pages!

There you have it… a snapshot into my little family circa 2008!

treasuredmemoriestreasuredmemories3 treasuredmemories2 treasuredmemories1

I experimented with hanging embellishments on this layout… like the little hanging tags and the little hanging birdhouse. I thought they turned out really cute! But ! am slightly biased 😉

What do y’all think? Do you love to scrapbook as much as I do? Would you like to see more scrapbooking posts around here? Sound off in the comment section!

I used to scrapbook all the time, but I actually just put all of my supplies in the basement because I haven’t had time for it in ages,

So cute! I haven’t scrapped in sooo long. For some reason I don’t love doing it by myself and I never get anything done when I have friends over with me! It’s a conundrum 🙂

I have the same problem! Scraping by myself is never as much fun but when I try to work with friends over I tend to worry more about helping with their pages then working on mine! Or we end up talking all night! Haha! I tend to end up working with my mom or one of my friends that I’ve scrapped with for years… that’s always fun!

I did scrapbooks when I was getting married and when I was pregnant with my first child. Since then, they have been sitting in a tote in the basement. Maybe when the kids are all in school.

I know what you mean! I scrapbooked when I was in college… ever since I haven’t had the free time! I’m hoping that with my new craft room I’ll be able to get back into it! Even if it takes a while to do a page my new room means I can shut the door and come back to it when I’m free! Good luck getting back to it Shann Eva… I’m sure you have adorable pics of your kiddos that would be lovely scrapped!

There’s no right or wrong way! Just add fun little embellishments and paper until you’re happy! The whole point is Tj preserve memories… That looks different for each person!

You have made some beautifully decorated pages for your scrap book! I used to love collecting random things to remember my special moments but for some reason they would mingle in a box and collect dust. I have come to terms that I get too sidetracked with other crafts now. The great thing is that the paper and embellishments are so versatile so I don’t feel guilt hoarding my scrapbooking supplies! Thank you for letting us take a peak into your scrapbook. Love the family pages!

Thanks Lyn! I have always collected memorabilia… And it would sit on a box! Haha! I’m good at scrapping pictures but often forget the little extras I’ve saved… I’ve started a smash book for all the little things (movie tickets, receipts etc) and it’s fun because it doesn’t have to be perfect… You just smash it in! It’s so easy and I love having it all in one place and having room to write down the important stuff… Who I went with and the fun memories we made!
