These little birds nests are so quick and easy I debated whether I even needed a post for them! You’ll be able to make one in under two minutes once you get the hang of it… and they turn out soooo cute!
The only thing you need is a cloth napkin (or a square piece of fabric). I used these gray and white buffalo check napkins to coordinate with my vintage easter tablescape.
Ready to rock?

Start by folding your square into a large triangle… then roll your triangle up starting with the long edge and rolling towards the point.
You’ll have a long rope of napkin at this point… perfect.
Now start to coil your napkin. Make a little nest with the left edge, the right edge will still be a long rope.
Just make sure that the nest (at this point) is a little larger than your hand. You’ll want the inside doughnut hole to be about the size of a golf ball. Now tuck the tail end of the rope inside the doughnut hole before moving on… that way it won’t fall apart once we’re finished.
Now tuck the tail end of your napkin underneath and pull it through the doughnut hole… winding your napkin around the nest and tucking the tail into the little birds nest on the other side.
Beautiful darling!
Now you’re done!
You can pull at the edges to get the perfect shape and then it’s time to style these bad boys.
I added a few to a champagne colored ornament tree and one in an antique candy dish. Then I snuggled a few of my resin eggs down into the nests… I absolutely love how they turned out!
[…] Of course, in order to tie the different eggs (and the table together) I needed a common element. So I took the four buffalo check napkins I didn’t use on the tablescape and turned them into little birds nests for my centerpiece. (You can follow the quick and easy tutorial I put together to achieve the same look with your napkins!). […]
