Let’s jump right into it, shall we?
I thought since this is my first time being a guest blogger on Happily Ever After, Etc. I would introduce myself a bit. I am Charlene Asay from Thinking Outside The Pot. I am a wife, mom of two beautiful kiddos, a blogger, a lover of food, DIY’s and everything that comes with being a mom and homemaker. I have always wanted to be a stay at home mom. It wasn’t until I had my children that I truly understood how much hard work it is. I love it still and love to share my hints and tips to the world through blogging.
I am sure you all know by now that Betsy has switched jobs and moved, so with all the hectic chaos of that she has asked me to be a guest blogger for her. I am so excited that Betsy has asked me to share my ideas on frugal ways to organize a spice cabinet with all her readers. I feel very privileged to be able to work with Betsy a little bit. She is a wonderful blogger, and truly has a passion and love for it. I hope that I am able to add to her great content.
I hope that these simple tips will help you feel more organized in your kitchen and home. If you all have more ideas about organization in your kitchen, especially spice cabinets please share your ideas in the comment area. Now let’s get organizing.

Tips:
1: First things first pull out all those spices and wipe the cabinet out. This is a little step but very important. If you are like me it’s been a while since I have done this, so it’s a well needed step.
2: Organize your spice containers in groups of sizes. This way you can put all the small bottles together, medium bottles together, large bottles together and so forth.
3: You will need to purchase 3-5 (however many wire or plastic baskets will fit in your cabinet). I purchased mine at the Dollar Tree for a total of $4. That was a great steal. They can also be purchased at Wal-Mart but Dollar Tree is the way to go. That’s why this little project is frugal. 🙂
4: Place your spice containers in the wire or plastic containers by sizes. You may have to stack the baskets once they are in your cabinet, but how much easier will this be? No more rummaging through rows and rows of spices. Just pull each basket out and search for the spice you are looking for.
5: One last tip: I like to make a list of the spices I have and tape it on the inside of my spice cabinet. That way I can keep track of what spices I have or don’t have. This makes it easy to add them to your grocery list.
I hope these tips are helpful and make you feel lots more organized. I know I feel like a new women with my spice cabinet organized now. Don’t forget to check out more of my ideas, tips, recipes and DIY’s projects at Thinking Outside The Pot!
Don’t y’all just love Charlene? She’s a total sweetheart! I was so grateful when she agreed to share her fabulous frugal spice cabinet organization tips with us! Plus I got to read all about her fabulous spice cabinet organizational tips! My favorite was her tip to keep a spice inventory right inside your cabinet… I am always forgetting to keep my spices stocked! Which means I don’t realize I need new spices until I’m halfway through cooking dinner! No fun!
