I think I might be experiencing a tiny bit of bloggers burnout after my absolutely crazy schedule in February. I absolutely love blogging but for about two weeks there I went nuts… working on the blog until almost two in the morning every single night.
Since I still have full time job (and a husband) I need a little bit of free time… which is why I skipped last Saturday’s Fantastic Finds Saturday post for the first time in forever in lieu of hanging out on the couch and binge watching Fuller House! Sometimes a girl just needs a little couch time… plus who wasn’t waiting for the Fuller House premiere? It needed my undivided attention!
Either way I’m feeling much better now… and the guest room is shaping up! I have a few big projects to finish and then it will be time for the big reveal! I can’t wait to show it to you. In the mean time I think it might be time for round two of Fuller House…

DIY Rolling Cart Transformation: a Little Paint and Organization
The DIY rolling cart craze might have started quite a while ago… with the introduction of the IKEA Raskog it seems like little carts on wheels are popping up all over the place!
I can see why: they’re small, portable, completely functional and add adorable storage to almost any room without taking up a large footprint. I’ve wanted one for eons but the IKEA icon is not the only rolling cart on the market!
How to Pick the Perfect Bedding
Some of you might remember that my hubby bought a gorgeous furniture set as my Christmas present this year. They’re absolutely beautiful with turned legs and plenty of detail… just look at that headboard! Of course the best part about new beds is new bedding! I absolutely love a great quilt of fluffy bedspread… and since this was the first piece into the new room I could really work with a blank canvas. Which means I could pick anything I wanted!
So how do you pick the perfect bedding when the options are unlimited?
St. Patty’s Day Lamp Shade
St. Patty’s Day is often overlooked in our family… sure we put on green and appreciate pinching people for a day but that’s about it! So this year I’ve decided to do a little bit of St. Patty’s Day decorating… my hubby is part Irish after all!
Working on the Guest Room… Option 1!
I’m finally conquering the final room in my house… the guest room. The other rooms are coming along and hopefully will be finished any day now (the hubby and I were hanging pictures on Saturday night if that tells you how close we are!). The guest room on the other hand is still in the inspiration stage… the only thing that is for sure is the furniture (a Christmas present from the hubby), the quilt set and the elephant!
Since the furniture is sage green and cream that definitely sets the mood. I picked a gorgeous grey and cream quilt set that will help the room stay neutral. That means our color palette so far is sage, cream and gray.

Here are my favorite 10 projects to spruce up your home.

How To Customize a Cardboard Animal Head
Every once in a while you find an idea that you absolutely love, something that jumps out and smacks you in the face! When I first started the mood board for our guest room I wasn’t sure on a lot of things… the color palette was up in the air, the decorations were uncertain, everything was undecided except for the furniture.
Then I found Eyan the Elephant. At first I thought I wanted a large deer head (I mean one cardboard animal head is just as good as the next and the pictures on Pinterest convinced me a deer was a great idea) but upon further investigation I figured out that what I truly wanted was an elephant head!
Who knew?
Living Room Reveal… Our Second Home!
There’s absolutely nothing better than coming home to a space that feels like home! Photos on the walls, curtains on the windows… we are making progress y’all! I even got the hubby to put away his PlayStation 4! The cats are disappointed they can’t lay on it’s fiery goodness any more but I’m ecstatic to have it off the floor!
10 Ways to Organize your Rolling Cart!
The worst part about having a desk in the living room? All of my storage and fancy schmancy bookshelves are back in the craft room! When we moved houses I decided to take the desk out of the craft room since I was spending way too much time (by myself) cooped up in the office. I love the blog and working late into the night on blog posts is totally my jam… but I love it even more when I can work while hanging out with the hubby!
I’ll still do most of my creating in my craft room… once I get the darn thing organized! (I’m this close to finishing the room… my new craft cabinet puts me soooooo close!) So all I need in the living room is a little bit of real estate next to my desk for organizing my main supplies.
Popular Neutrals for 2016… Is Kilim Beige In or Out?
For the last year Kilim Beige has been the reigning queen of the entire beige family. The most popular color of the year and the beige color that was purchased the most frequently.
Now that’s a lot of weight resting on poor little Kilim beige’s shoulders.
Over the last month and a half (since 2016 began) several readers have commented on my 2015 popular color post asking whether Kilim Beige is in… or out.
Why my BRAND New Rug Cost $250 in Cleaning Fees.
If you’re anything like me buying a rug is a big decision. We don’t have bundles of money and rugs are big purchase items in the Smith household… ok anything over $30 is a big purchase up in here!
Money doesn’t grow on trees after all! ?
So when I started to look at rugs 2 years ago I looked at everything under the sun… I wanted to make sure that I purchased something we truly loved. I looked and looked but when I stumbled upon this gorgeous office makeover by Centsational Girl… I knew my search was over.
How to Pick a New Kitchen Faucet (with Checklist!)
In a strange twist of fate last week when we were washing the dishes… the faucet broke. Just fell apart! The hubby was washing while I dried and I suppose there was a quick moment where I accused him of hulking out and breaking the sprayer.
I now realize that probably isn’t possible.
Plus he’s not green… so there’s that.
