My favorite parts of any design are the little details. The small bits or pieces that could easily be overlooked or forgotten. Even though it can be something simple, a small thing those little details are the icing on the cake… the part that makes the whole room sing.
To me that means adding a little something extra to every piece possible… when others say that’s good enough say “What can I do to make this better?”
Sometimes that’s a sparkly candle or a fluffy throw blanket but in this case it’s brand (spanking) new light chain pulls! I first saw these babies a couple months ago on Pinterest… they were the cutest little things! The ones I saw originally were so cute: one had a little light bulb and the other a teeny tiny little fan. I was completely set on buying myself a couple pairs but when I went to the store I found something even better. Light pulls with sparkly crystals! The perfect touch to throw a bit of light and glam into any room.
I picked mine up for about $3 a piece from the Home Depot and while I loved the crystal bling option there were plenty to chose from! The whole process was fairly easy, You simply unsnap the chain from the old light chain and attach the new chain! If one of your chains is a little long you may want to add one more step… shortening the chain! Simply use a pair of wire cutters to snip the chain at the perfect length. Easy peezy lemon squeezy!
So far the chains in three of our rooms are the perfect length. Well, technically the chain in our bedroom is a bit long but since the little bit of extra length makes it easy to grab in the middle of the night I think we’ll leave it that way. So perfect for us I should say! The chain in our living room could use a teeny haircut since it hangs directly in the middle of the room. Since a chain won’t grow back we’re going to live with the chains long for a little while so we can determine the perfect length. Not to long, not to short… we want the baby bear option.
I absolutely love these new chains, they add a bit of sparkle and glam to each of our rooms! Plus the project was so quick and easy! It only took a couple minutes from beginning to end.
