Well y’all this year is a little funny in the Smith household… since we’re in the middle of a crazy life change I’m not full-out decorating for Christmas. I mean it’s kind of hard to decorate a Christmas tree when all of your things are in storage!
So instead I thought we’d go a little outside of my normal blue and white color scheme to look at my favorite traditional Christmas home.
My Mama’s house!
I’ve wanted to share her pretty Christmas decorations with y’all for a while now but I needed to wait until I could photograph allllll of her amazing decorations… I mean she has like 8 Christmas Trees!
It’s died down a little since I was a little girl but she definitely has the traditional Christmas feel down… of course if that’s not your thing don’t worry. There are plenty of fun home decorating posts for the holidays down below. Scroll down and check out any of the other fun Home Tours from our Deck the Home Blog Hop!
In the meantime let’s take a tour around my Mama’s traditional Christmas look. This entire home tour just makes me feel like a little kid again! I mean this is the Christmas of my childhood so I guess it makes sense.
Just look at my little baby pictures on the main Christmas tree!
I shared her Frosty Friends tree with y’all last year… I was born in Alaska so I love all these little eskimo’s! They’re so cute. Since I’m an army brat we moved from Alaska pretty quickly… so it’s not like I grew up in an igloo or anything but I still love the imagery!
Is that weird?
Before we get too captivated by that let’s move on to this cute puppy snoozing on the couch among the holiday pillows! Her name is Princess Peach (yes after the Mario princess) and she’s the best.
This post is turning into a bit more of a story post then a how-to or advice post… hope y’all like it!
Can you believe that this tree is missing the bottom section? Yup this super tall tree is suppose to tbe even taller! Mom had even taller ceilings at the last house.
Wasn’t my baby brother a cutie pattootie? We’re not sure what happened…
Just kidding!
The dining room has a gold and green theme… although the tree is completely gold ornaments.
I love silver or rose gold best but even I love all those gorgeous gold ornaments… they’re just so pretty! Plus Mom is great about buying ornaments everywhere we go so that we have memories on our tree!
My Mama’s nativity set is my favorite of all her Christmas decorations. It’s so pretty and honestly I love the colors… it’s just so delicate and pretty.
It took her years to collect all of these, my Daddy gave her one a year for many years until she had the entire collection… that in itself was fun to watch as her collection grew my entire childhood.
