Well y’all after all of the insane work I’ve been doing on Inside the Paint Can lately it’s finally time to get back into the creative work around here! We have a kitchen makeover that we’re right in the middle of and a guest room to finish up! So you know what that means… a kitchen hardware update!
Of course the first step in any makeover is the foundation work… which means painting the cabinets! If y’all saw my kitchen mood board you already know we picked site white for the cabinet color but you haven’t seen the amazing hardware from D. Lawless in action yet.
I fell in love with the cup pulls we picked for the space and the little knobs match perfectly… but since I’m a complete spazz I forgot to order new hinges! That’s an easy fix though… just hit it with a little spray paint!
See what we’re working with?
I pulled an entire section of cabinets off the wall last week and sprayed the hinges… worked like a charm! Unfortunately the piece of cardboard we put down in the backyard left a little to be desired… and now a patch of our grass is brushed chrome. Oops!
Then a light bulb went off in my head and I remembered the spray shelter I got at Haven! I don’t need to paint my grass… I just need to set the shelter up! So I unpacked it from the little blue carrying case and y’all… I should have video taped this. I didn’t realize exactly how it would pop into shape so I just pulled it out of the case in the middle of the kitchen… and accidentally set it up right on top of my cat.
She was not happy!
Luckily it’s super lightweight so all it did was scare her a bit. Poor thing has never had a spray shelter jump at her before ;).
Seriously y’all this thing was a game changer. If you spray lots of little projects, grab a spray shelter for yourself because this thing was amazing… I know I’m going to use it for many projects in the future!
Two light coats of chrome spray paint later and we were able to put the hinges back on the cabinets! I can’t wait to show y’all the entire kitchen reveal but until then let’s take a look at the hardware…
So much better right?!
It’s just a small piece of the puzzle but it’s coming together y’all. It’s almost time to show you how the cabinets look painted!
In the mean time check out what a few of the other ladies have done with their amazing Haven SWAG!
I love Homeright’s new small spray shelter, but it is difficult for me to get folded up.
Updating hardware for the kitchen makes all the difference in the world.
I’m curious… Homeright wasn’t at Haven this year, so how did you get the new small spray shelter?

It’s pretty awesome! I actually got mine from the DecoArt girls at Haven! I assume their products go together in someway… I’m not sure how Home Right and Deco Art align but when Laura asked if I wanted to try the small spray shelter I said sure! Haha! I did have to ask the hubby for help folding it up though… I am not good with that despite the instructions inside the bag!
