May Round-Up

Hey y'all

I cannot BELIEVE that it is the END of May! Really, truly can’t believe it! Someone may have to come pinch me! This month has been a turmoil of craziness… my first work conference, the unexpected “hey y’all are moving in a week” phone call from my boss, our one year anniversary (whoot whoot!) and on top of all this my debit card was hacked! That’s right we’ve been trying to do all of this with no access to money!

After all of the craziness the blog has been a quiet escape… and y’all have been wonderful through it all! So supportive with nothing but kind words and encouragement! Even though it is 10:41 at night and I am typing this from my hotel room I know it will all work out! So without further ado… let’s get to the round-up!!

Present Ideas for your Man... How to go Completely Overboard! | Happily Ever After, Etc.

Present Ideas for your Man… How to go COMPLETELY Overboard! I have the best husband in the whole world! Seriously this man puts up with A LOT from me… yet he still loves me and keeps coming back for more! 364 days out of the year he puts me first and even though I try to put him first he seems to be way better at it. I have no will power when it comes to letting him do sweet things for me. Oops… read more!

The Real Deal: A Messy Home Tour! Happily Ever After, Etc.!

The Real Deal: A Messy Home Tour! I have loved reading your sweet comments every week as I share my home and my projects with you. I do my best to take “pretty pictures” and show off each room to the best of my ability… but most rooms take a lot of effort to get camera ready! Which is why I absolutely LOVE the messy home tour… read more!

A Vintage Suitcase Makeover | Happily Ever After, Etc.

A Vintage Suitcase Makeover! If you’re anything like me you are loving the vintage suitcase trend that’s going on right now. I tend to be drawn towards anything that contains things (read as: stores all my crap out of sight) so vintage suitcases are perfect for me! In addition to larger suitcases I have found adorable children’s suitcases, hat boxes… even a vintage bowling ball bag! The key (for me) is finding that perfect colored bag… the one that looks amazing with all the rest of my pretty things … read more!

6 creative ways to Decorate with Bed Linens | Happily Ever After, Etc.

6 Creative Ways to Decorate with Bed Linens! Bedroom décor does not have to be an expensive matter of tasteful design, bizarre objet’s d’art and exquisitely precise shadings of wall color. A very good effect, both tasteful and inviting, can be achieved in a relatively simple manner, by making the most of the everyday items that any bedroom needs. Your bed linens, for example, provide a wonderful opportunity when it comes to bedroom decor… read more!

How to Turn a Globe into a Guest Book for your Wedding

How to Make a Globe into a Guest Book for your Wedding! The one decision I didn’t have to work to hard on was my guest book. I knew that I didn’t want your typical paper bound book filled with signatures. I was afraid that it would get stuck on a shelf in the back of a closet somewhere, collecting dust… completely forgotten about. I didn’t want my memories to be dusty! I wanted something that would be seen everyday… out in the open… not just in plain sight but part of the decor… read more!

How to Paint a GIANT Pallet! Today we’re going back in time…. back before this blog was started… back before I met my husband… back to when I was a young single gal just renting her first apartment. I had a shoestring budget for art and home décor… but I wasn’t going to let a little thing like money stand in my way! When I couldn’t afford a large piece of art to go over my couch? I made one… read more!

P.S. A very happy birthday to my little bro who turns 25 in 3 short days… when did we become adults?! Who gave approval for that?! I still remember getting in trouble over water balloon fights… and your never ending battle to cut the hair on my mermaid barbie doll. Luckily you never succeeded… I’d hate to lose my only brother! All joking aside I love you and hope you have a great day… even though you will never read this!

You’re so sweet! The mason jars were super easy… But I’m a sucker for anything under 8 bucks that involves glitter… So I’m biased!

The chaise was a spur of the moment purchase… we had picked out a second chair for the living room even though I kept secretly sneaking out to the furniture store to sit on that chaise! When the time came to make a decision I told my hubby about the chaise I loved and the rest is history! He’s so good at spoiling me!
