Headboard Shapes... Which to Pick! with Happily Ever After, Etc.

Headboard Shapes… Which to Pick?!

Hey y'all

So my mom decided a while ago that she wants a new headboard. She had an antique four poster bed that we picked up for a great price at an antique shop… but she just didn’t love it. So she got rid of it and now she’s thinking to go the DIY route! Which is awesome because, yay new projects! The only question left? What headboard shape is best!

She’s still not sure what shape she wants… so of course I took to Pinterest! Let’s take a look, shall we?

Option A has all the beauty of a tufted headboard with the structure of a wooden piece… and let’s face it anything with tufts is awesome in my book!

Looking for a bunch of posts on DIY & Crafts? I’ve got you covered!
Click here to see all of my how to DIY & Craft posts in one place!

I love the nail-head trim on Option B… it adds a subtle touch of bling and class! Now mom’s not all about the bling but she’s pretty classy… and nail-head is a pretty traditional way to spruce up a piece. Plus it adds a touch of femininity!

Look at those sexy lines on Option C… sleek and modern! Mom wants a classic shape but nothing too fancy so maybe something large and dramatic will fit the bill?

What about tall and dramatic? Mom has tall ceilings and a headboard with plenty of height would be fantastic in her bedroom! Option D definitely gives lots of height!

So what do y’all think? What is the best option? Let’s take a poll and then we’ll see what mom says… she might even show up in the comments! She does that sometimes 😉

I think my favorite is the tall headboard. I like how dramatic it is and makes the bed more of a focal point in the room.

I agree… she definitely needs a focal point! She’s trying to decide if she wants a tall headboard or a short one with a wall grouping over the middle. I suppose that will help with the decision!

Tell me about it Beth! That is the one thing I don’t love about our current headboard… it’s cast iron so there really isn’t a back. If you prop up enough pillows you can kind of sit up but it’s not the same! Oh well… mama always said beauty is pain!

A headboard is defined as a piece of furniture that is attached to the head of a bed. A headboard can be completely utilitarian but nowadays they have a lot of aesthetic values as well. Headboards are designed favorite for interior designers and they add a lot of style to the room.
And I think this is worth reading the post And I am waiting for your new post:-)
