Y’all this is literally the simpliest DIY in the history of DIY’s. I don’t even know if it can be called a DIY it’s really more of a open bag and pour… like if you can pour a bag of dog food you can make this cute little faux snow globe.
Since we’re in the middle of a move this year I can’t exactly pull out the big guns and decorate the whole house for Chirstmas. So instead I’ve decided to add a few things here and there that are super simple and easy. Things I can easily move to the next house without a lot of assembly… and things that are budget friendly or use things we already have.
You know since most of the money is going towards the move!
So I decided to start with a few cute little snow globes in the craft room. I already have glass containers in there and I haven’t updated them in about… 7 years. So it was time. Other than that I spent 4.5 dollars on this project.
True story.
Supplies for DIY Snow Globes:
Something for inside!

So while I linked to different supplies up above I completely bought all my supplies from Walmart on my latest grocery run. I couldn’t find the supplies on the Walmart website though so some links are better than none!
Here’s the tip though… if you’re looking for something for inside your snow globe check the dollar ornament spot! There are so many options for a dollar! Just because something has an ornament label doesn’t mean you have to use it for an ornament.
I almost picked a Christmas tree and Santa and went all out Christmas style but I just couldn’t do it. Mainly because my glass containers have those cute little birds on top! Since these are in my craft room they can be a bit more girly… so I went all out with the cute bird theme and picked up two little birdcages.
Let’s get started.
Step 1:
Place fake snow into your container! Make sure it’s deep enough to display your item at the right height… and then make sure it’s packed down enough that your item won’t sink to the bottom!
Step 2:
Place your item inside the container!!! See how easy this was? I could have had my hubby do this one *wink wink* Pay special attention to the bottom of your item and if you want it to be visable or burried in snow.
Then enjoy!
