Life has been crazy lately! Between work, the blog and having a life there’s less time and more work… and I know I’m not alone in feeling this way! On top of all that jazz I’ve been having a problem with my internet… I know y’all have noticed random absences from me lately. I’ll come home from work ready to work on a post and realize the Internet’s out for the night!
It’s enough to make me want to scream!
Of course screaming does no good so I’ve spent that time working on fun projects around the house and hanging out with the hubby. I do like to spend time with him every once in a while!
It’s hard when life gets so busy that we forget to spend time doing the simple things that make life worth living… like spending time with those we love. We need to spend time working hard and then spend time relaxing hard.
Spending all of your time on one thing or the other causes that dreaded overwhelm feeling… and if you’re like me working too hard in one area causes slacking in another! No bueno. I need to work hard at all aspects of my job, all aspects of the blog and all aspects of relaxing!
A lot of this weeks overwhelm has come from a re-structuring at work… we’ve been working on setting new policies in place and that can get very stressful.
I have a little analogy I like to use and it all starts with the difference between dogs and cats. If you have four dogs you can leash them all together and train them to work towards one common goal… pulling a sled. They’re hardworking and determined with a great stamina.
Now what happens if you try to leash four cats together?
They go crazy! Cats flying in every single direction, none working for a common goal. You could try for an unlimited amount of time without ever getting the cats to pull the sled… it’s not what they’re built for.
Sure they have their time and place… with two cats and a dog of my own I’m not saying that I love dogs better. But at work? You can’t be a cat…
Be a dog!
Bonus: Grab our fun set of 23 Printables for FREE at the bottom of this post!
Of course all of our pretty new printables aren’t quite so cryptic… sassy and sarcastic is only motivating part of the time!
So here’s a printable that’s a bit more bold…
No Excuses, Just Results!
This was my motto in college. Any of my friends can tell you how many thousands of times I uttered this phrase. I’ve gotten away from it for a few years so it’s time to get back to my roots. Work hard, pay hard, take no prisoners. Do it all with cute fonts!
Ready to Print?! Don’t forget printing supplies!
This last one might be my favorite!
The world has taken the word hustle by storm these last couple years. It’s everyone’s moto… #hustle has built more businesses than any other hashtag! Of course Hustle is important but so is heart… you have to work hard and care harder!
Don’t forget to grab your BONUS 23 FREE printables before you go!

Pegi, What is sending y’all to this page? A pin? I’d love to find exactly what it is so I can tell the owner the traffic is coming to my page instead of hers… if you could tell me any info I would appreciate it! Feel free to email me at Betsy @ Happilyeverafteretc . com if that’s easier! Thanks

Hi Emalee,
Thank you for pointing to where the Little Man printable actually is! I was going crazy trying to find where it was and how people were getting to this page! Unfortunately when I follow the path for the little man printable the original blog where it was being offered has been taken off the internet. I’ve taken it out of the original post so that no one else finds it but I can’t point to it anywhere since it’s no longer available. I’m sorry about that but at least the mystery has been solved!
