I almost called this post “why I should have 23 different spools in my house” but since I don’t even have room for 23 spools I went with the rational title of 23 amazing spool DIY’s. I cannot wait to try a few of these!

You see I’ve recently been bitten by the aquarium bug and have been looking for an affordable, rustic, sturdy option to hold a 55 gallon aquarium that isn’t ugly or commercial. So I thought of a wooden spool… they’re sturdy and the right size to hold my hexagon tank. Plus they have the added benefit of being rustic and customizable so that the tank will fit right in with my existing decor.

So I went looking for all-the-spool-ideas and came up with quite a few amazing spools that you may just want to try! They definitely inspired me to get started on my little spool fish tank stand right away!

I’ll be honest… this little spool bookshelf is kind of the madness that started the whole thing! And by the whole thing I mean my love of spools, my love of Pinterest, my projects for our (at the time) little apartment… I don’t remember exactly what I was doing just that I came across this little spool while I was sitting in my little cubicle office at work and it led me down a rabbit hole of blogs.

I never knew that homemaking, decorating, writing about it, could be a thing… that with a little hard-work and perseverance it could be a career. I started down the rabbit hole and never came back!
