This year our Christmas Home Tour is coming to you just a little bit late… after our devastating life news it’s been hard to get back in the swing of things. Especially when I’m not feeling extremely festive.
The hubs and I loved Christmas though so I’m forging ahead.
I actually wasn’t going to decorate for Christmas this year because we were suppose to be moving! When we didn’t move the hubs said he wanted to decorate so we went after it… we had a great time singing carols and decking the halls.
Or opening tons of pointless little boxes to take everything out… at least that’s what the hubs calls unpacking. I love decorating with him because it’s just like decorating with a small child… he tried to put his favorite Broncos ornaments on the front middle of the tree and he had a blast arranging the lights and swag on the bookshelves.
Of course, I love adding in all my little snowmen and winter touches to everyday places like my desk or sidetables… such a simple way to add Christmas everywhere!
Look at this sweet little girl! In Alabama it’s never truly cold (although the Alabamians think it’s cold… being from Colorado and born in Alaska this girl isn’t convinced!) Little Bitt is cold though… she’s struggling with fleas so no hair for her and therefore sweet little thing needs a coat! Of course, she channels the princess and the pea and will always sit directly on a pillow if the opportunity presents itself.
Rascal.
We just picked up these stockings last year, Trevor thought they added the perfect touch to our room. Normally we go for light blues, grays and whites so these darker navy blue and brown stockings added a sweet contrast. Of course, rose gold glitter initials were the perfect addition! Trevor couldn’t figure out how to hang them though… silly man! Hang the initials from the same hook as the stockings!
Tip: I picked these stockings up from Michaels the day after Christmas last year… so much cheaper than full price during the Christmas season!
We didn’t decorate too many other places this year but the living room is where we spend our time. The best part? I was so worried about this Christmas Home Tour that my sweet hubby spent two days cleaning for me… he wanted it to be just right.
Love that man.
Want one last tip? I’m still waiting for the after Christmas sales to pick up the perfect tree skirt… but in the meantime I still need something cozy to wrap around my tree. So I grabbed a solid color $5 blanket from WalMart and wrapped it around the base… it’s the perfect solution!
Now I have plenty of time to find the perfect tree skirt at the perfect price!
