Third Times the Charm! The Third Liebster Post!

Hey y'all

As if four Liebster Awards weren’t enough… I was recently nominated for a FIFTH and SIXTH Award! This is starting to get crazy! From now on I think I’ll just say thank you and direct folks to my previous posts… the one that started it all and the one the one in the middle! Since you’ve been here a while you already know how this works(If you don’t know how it works just read the first post… it’s all laid out!). First off we thank the lovely Mandy from Aphrodite Blossoming for her fabulous nomination!

Thanks Mandy!

Then we thank the fantastic Kate from The Organized Dream for her super sweet nomination!

Thanks Kate!

Now 11 additional facts about yours truly!

Tiger-lilies are my favorite flower. Sweet Pea is my favorite scent.

In middle school my family spent a year living in an apartment with no cable. My little brother and I would rush home to watch Happy Days and beg to stay up late watching re-runs of the Love Boat. We were weird children… to this day he is the only one (of my friends) who understands my Brady Bunch references!

I hate hate hate scarey movies! Even action movies give me the heebie jeebies most of the time… but I live through it for the action. I mean who doesn’t love Captain America? Hubba Hubba!

Captain America is my favorite Avenger 😉 Channing Tatum is my favorite actor 😉 I would pick my hubby hands down over either one.

I can read a 300 or 400 page book in a couple hours. I love to read actual physical books but it’s hard to own THAT many physical books… my iPad has become my go-to book of choice! One day I will own a Victorian house with a TOWER… the tower will be my library and alleviate the no space for books problem.

I am a tidge bossy… OK VERY bossy.

I love musicals… and so does my husband, brother and mama. My little bro had season tickets to the Fox Theatre in Atlanta last year… so he took us to see several plays (Newsies and The Little Mermaid) we are hoping to buy season tickets for all four of us this year… wouldn’t that be fun?

I am very hard to surprise… but my hubby keeps trying! He planned an entire weekend for our one year wedding anniversary which was suppose to be a surprise. Unfortunately he forgot that using our joint bank account to purchase the tickets would tip me off. I PROMISE I didn’t look on purpose! Either way I’m super excited to see Wicked for the first time with my man! I’ve seen it twice, he’s never been and his childlike excitement makes everything better!

I will never use one word when I can use twelve.

My guest room seems to be getting worse instead of better… I’m not sure I will ever have it cleaned out and ready for guests!

I hate all kinds of tea except for peach. Peach tea is the bomb.

Liebster Award | Happily Ever After, Etc.

Let’s keep going… 11 fabulous questions from Mandy:

What was that spark that made you start blogging?

I have a passion for home decor and love to share! I have a degree in Graphic Design, love to write (I worked as an editor on my college paper for all 4 years) and worked as a Social Media Director for a year and a half. All of these skills combined to make blogging the perfect past time!

What are your core passions that drive you in life?

Family, Loyalty, Love, Passion, Hard-Work and a single-minded determination once I set my mind on something.

When you have a bad day or feel defeated, what helps you get inspired and motivated again?

Time… I usually need a good pity fest under the covers before I can scrape myself up (with a little help from my hubby) and get back at it.

Who are your role models?

In no particular order: My mom for her willingness to try new things and make the best of any situation. My husband for his ability to laugh like a child yet buckle down and work hard to provide. My dad for his hard-work and intelligence. My yorkie/kitty cats (I know this is a weird one but hold on… ) for their ability to love unconditionally.

Who/what are your early influences

Probably my parents, we moved around a lot (like every year) so they were a constant influence in my life.

If you wrote your own obituary, (weird question, but I was asked this once), what one statement would you want to say that epitomized how you lived your life?

That I lived life with no regrets. I am a shy person by nature so one of my biggest fears is that I will wake up at 80 and wonder why I never lived.

What do you do for self-care? If you don’t engage in self-care, why not?

I don’t know what self-care is… so no? Is that bad? Should I know?

What is your favorite past-time?

Spending time with family and friends, antiquing, shopping, reading, riding horses (although I wish I could do more of this) decorating, watching tv, going to the movies, scrapbooking, going to plays, I am a women of many hobbies… 😉

What is your favorite television show? Why?

I don’t know how to pick just one! Mike & Molly because I love the comedy and the way their marriage works. Once Upon a Time because… well seriously? It’s addicting. Right now the hubby and I are entranced in a Netflix marathon of The Originals. So much drama!

What do you do for fun?

Any of my favorite past-times… plus blogging!

How do your relationships (family friends, partners, etc) support you in your life?

My people are amazing! I have the best friends, husband, parents, brother, pets a girl can ask for! They don’t always understand what I’m doing but they do such a great job of loving me through it anyways!

It’s a good thing I like questions! 11 more from the fabulous Kate!

What is your favorite past-time/hobby?

Taking a long hot bath with a good book! Right now my hubby is taking a night class (from 5pm-10pm) which absolutely stinks but it gives me time to come home and take a long 3 hour bath with a good book… at least once a week! Now that’s a good thing!

What is one things you would like to do on your blog this year?

I just moved to a self-hosted wordpress.org site so that was a big one! The next step is to design and send out monthly newsletters.

Who or what is your biggest inspiration for being creative?

My mom is highly creative… I can remember her sewing or crafting from the time I was a little girl. We scrapbook together and she’s great with home decor… my girl scout crafts always rocked! She’s still my go-to sewing expert… I have big plans to make new slip-covers for my dining room chairs but I have to wait until she has the free time to help me! While I could definitely sew them on my own, her work will look SO much better! Try comparing a five year olds work to a pro… now you’ve got the picture!  Plus the thing she’s busy with? A two week cruise… so there’s plenty of resentment to go around! Hi Mom!

Name something you like about your town/city.

Being so close to family. Growing up in a military family seeing extended relatives was always a big deal. It’s so much fun to be able to see family whenever we have the time. Grandpa made extras for dinner? OK we’ll be there by five!

Are you doing what you imagined/planned as a child?

No! Short of being a wife and a mother (half way there!) I always dreamed I’d be a teacher! I would make copies of my little workbooks, round up my friends and have “class”. Then I would grade all of the papers… it was loads of fun! Haha!

If you were to write a book, what genre would it be?

Probably fantasy. I love books about witches, wizards, mermaids, werewolves and vampires. I read REALLY fast… like 400 pages in 3 hours fast! So most of the books I read are fairly inexpensive or free (love my iPad for that!) but when I actually buy a book it tends to be fantasy. Otherwise I read romance novels… and there’s no way I would be able to write one of those!

What is your favorite season, and why?

Spring! There’s something about a fresh spring breeze that makes me inexplicably happy. It just makes everything right in my world.

Do you ever plan for worst-case-scenarios?

Um, no. In my world nothing bad ever happens… we’re very unrealistic here. Of course I’m working on that! Starting with an emergency fund.

What is one skill you want to learn?

How to upholster things! Especially tufted chairs and couches… I just think that would be an amazing class!

What is one big life goal that you hope to achieve?

I want to leave a legacy behind. I’m not sure what that looks like but I don’t want to be forgotten.

A dragon appears, what do you do?

Make friends with it! I’ve always wanted a pet dragon!

Finally 11 5 nominations for the lovely bloggers I am just getting to know… Happy Liebstering!

Side Note: Yes, I know some of y’all have already received a Liebster nomination but since this is my sixth I thought… why not?!?!

Cook Craft Love Meaghan is a great gal who blogs all about cooking, crafting and things she’s over the top passionate about! Plus she seems like a total sweetheart!

Sparkling Shoes Girl Sinziana is an art teacher from Constanta, Romania who blogs about teaching, baking, painting and photography. She’s all about making beautiful things… which makes her pretty darn cool in my book!

The Hatched Home is run by Amanda… a fabulous mama with a knack for DIY. She has a fantastic planked wall… that’s really all you need to know ;).

Jackcyn Redesign is the self-titled blog of Jackcyn and her tagline is “Inspiring Your Best Home” She’s a card carrying member of the Interior Design club (aka she has a degree) and has fabulous ideas for how to make a well designed room.

Finchnwren is the cutest name I ever heard for a blog. It’s made even cuter by the two sisters who run the whole show (Finch and Wren!! Get it?) they blog about life, work, home school, family, food and fun!
