It was harder than I thought it would be to pick between the three (free) guest room printables I created last week! I really like the “Be Our Guest” sign but the hubster fell in love with “Make Yourself at Home” so instead of picking just one I decided to hang all three! With my very own nifty little DIY Printable Picture Frame!
I still loved the cute little picture hanger from the antique store but instead of simply re-creating it I decided to add a little extra feature… magnets! Since my picture frames close with magnets instead of glue you can change out your printables whenever you like. I’m kind of loving it!

Supplies:
4 Five Gallon Paint Paddles (Yes I make everything out of paint paddles… they’re free!)
Super Cute Printable of your Choice
Magnets with Adhesive or Hot Glue
Step 1:
The very very first step is to cut your paint paddles down to size… and to paint them whatever color you like! I chose grey to go with the rest of our room… although I really wanted to whitewash them!
Step 2:
Once your paddles are ready it’s time to add the magnets… you can pick magnets with or without adhesive (hot glue is great my friends!) but I decided to pick magnets that already had a layer of adhesive. Just peel and stick my friend!
I picked my little magnets without much thought process… go to store, buy magnets. That was about it. They totally worked for this project too… but it was hella hard to get them to hold my pictures! I kept having to re-adjust so that they were lined up just right. If I were re-doing this project I wouldn’t go for the cheapest magnet available… I don’t know if that makes a difference but it’s worth a shot!
If you’ve painted both sides of your paint paddles then you can put your magnets on whichever side you like! However if you were trying to conserve energy (aka you’re lazy like me!) and only painted one side of your paddle then make sure you put one set of magnets of the BACK of your paddle and one set of magnets on the FRONT of the other paddle. That way your paddles pretty front sides will be showing when you’re done!
Step 3:
I picked faux suede to hang my little picture frames… it’s stretchy and rustic! Which means it goes with the theme of my room while holding my little paint paddle tight! Score!
Honestly y’all this step is so easy I shouldn’t even include it…. simply tie your suede to your paddle. The only tip you’ll need is to watch the placement… see how my knot is right next to the magnet in my picture? I figured out (the hard way) that it works much better if you leave a little space between the two. I moved my suede knot down the paddle about an inch and it works much better. Go figure!
That’s it! You’re done! It really is that easy… wahoo!
Simply hang your little picture frame on the wall and you can switch out the printable whenever the mood strikes you! How awesome is that? I think it could get addictive… you might be seeing way more printables around here!
I’m really loving the look! You could easily make these little hangers bigger (I did have to cut my paint paddles in half to make these little guys… so you could make one twice as big!).
The guest room is so close to being finished (I know, I know I keep saying that! Honestly I’m just waiting for the hubby to have time to put the planked wall up! The planks are just hanging out in the office waiting to go up on the wall!). I have a few more projects on the back burner but hopefully the whole room will be revealed next week.
Until then are you loving the little sneak peak? The little tray is one of the few new additions I picked up for the room… and the little guest jar is definitely coming along! I’m still adding a few supplies… and I’m thinking about adding a cute little label to the front!
The space over our guest room dresser is actually quite large so even three printables looks a little dinky… I think I’m going to add 3 more to make a gallery of 6! Who knows what the final 6 printables will be but for now I’m loving these cute little chalkboard printables.
What would you display with your very own printable picture frame?
