Today I have a special treat for you… a guest post! The fabulous Kathy is taking over today to share 6 creative ways to decorate with Bed Linens… isn’t that great? Let’s dive right in… here we go!
Hello everyone- I am a guest @ Happily Ever After, Etc. My name is Kathy & I blog right over here. I would love it if you’d take the time to visit & share your feedback!
#1 Bed Linens & your bed should be neat!
First of all, and this may seem obvious but, take the time to make the bed every morning! Not only will this keep your bed crisp and inviting for longer, but a neatly made bed allows you to show off the design of your bedding set to best effect. It also instantly makes the room look tidier – even if there is a little bit of clutter here and there! You can refresh your existing bed linens every once in a while.
#2 Never compromise on Quality
Always consider the texture and quality of the fabric from which your bedding is made as well as the look of it. Cheap and poor quality fabrics soon become limp and faded, looking old and tattered after just one or two washes. Choosing good quality fabrics in textures that please you is an excellent way to ensure your own sensual pleasure as well as actually saving money in the long run: good fabrics last much longer!
#3 Bed Linen: Complete the Set!
Instead of simply opting for the bedding basics (sheet, duvet cover, pillowcases) why not explore the full range of bed linens bedding accessories? Shams, valances (frilled or plain depending on your personal preferences!) and many other decorative bedding features work very well to polish and add a nice finishing touch to any bedroom. Bed linens are available at Yorkshire Linen Co with a wonderful range of full bedding sets that are sure to appeal to everyone.
#4 Co-ordinate Everything
Do not forget your decor scheme colors when choosing your bedding. Ensuring that the bedding set perfectly harmonizes with the decor scheme of the room will give the whole room a unified and attractively welcoming effect. Never rush into buying bedding (unless, of course, it is a genuine emergency!) without carefully considering the look and theme of the bedroom as a whole.
#5 Dressing for Effect
‘Dress up’ the bed by adding a throw and some cushions; add a cuddly toy, or create a wonderful effect by hanging a large photograph or picture on the wall at the head of the bed. The latter can create an almost altar-like effective which can be very visually striking. However, do be sure to fix the picture firmly to the wall if you will be sleeping underneath it! See what can be added to your bed to create harmony, appeal or charm: this can make an amazing difference to the appearance of the room.
#6 Mix It Up
Invest in several bedding sets, in different variations of your color scheme. This will enable you to keep your bedroom looking fresh and cheerful, without becoming accustomed to, and therefore bored with, your color choices.
I absolutely loved those tips! A beautiful bedroom all starts with the linens! Thanks so much for sharing Kathy!
