I have been in a real cleaning, organizing, geteverysinglesufaceinshape mode this summer! Which is awesome if you’re my bathroom or kitchen but as I finish room after room I realized I’ve started to run out of spaces to organize! Which means I’ve started to move on to the little spaces and instead of making over the big spaces I’ve been working on organizing hacks that look like decorations.
Form and function baby, that’s my favorite!
Of course, whether I’m decorating, organizing or just plain cleaning there’s always one common factor… my playlist! I don’t know about y’all but when I’m working around the house I definitely have my iphone turned up loud. I like to keep a playlist of alllll my favorite songs of the moment so I can set it on repeat and just keep working.
I’m one of those fun people who likes to listen to songs on repeat… which drove my mom crazy growing up. Luckily the hubs also likes songs on repeat… we’re obviously a match made in heaven (or hell if you really hate songs on repeat *wink wink*).

So what’s on your playlist for the summer? My fave five are:
Castle on the Hill by Ed Sheeran (he sang this on carpool karaoke recently and it was kind of the best ever… I’ve been obsessed way before that but his freestyling with James Corden was the best!)
Sleep Without You by Brett Young
Closer featuring Halsey by the Chainsmokers (Who knew Hailey from Modern Family could actually sing?!)
Starving featuring Zedd by Hailee Steinfeld & Grey (I absolutely love this song… and I cannot wait for Pitch Perfect 3! Is anyone else as excited as I am?!)
Sanctuary by the Nashville Cast (I’m obsessed with pretty much anything the Nashville folks sing but I especially love Lennon and Maisy those girls can sing!)
Of course, once we crank up the tunes we need something to work on! So here’s my next 5 projects to work on!
Hack 1: A Neat and Tidy Pantry
My pantry has month old potato’s that appear to be growing things… definitely not the wallpaper accent wall, glass jar, cute basket pantry that I could have! I’m pretty sure the moral of this story is to turn the tunes up loud enough that I don’t freak out over touching disgusting potatoes and then re-organize the entire pantry.
With dollar store bins and glass jars I think I could come pretty close to pantry peace. (That’s a thing right?) opening the door to find a pretty pantry is the perfect way to start any day.
At the very least I can buy big enough baskets to put my rotting potato’s in!
Tip 2: A 2-Tiered Rack for Your Bathroom
This is my favorite tip! Bathroom’s are super easy to clutter… so much stuff not enough space! So what’s a girl to do? Well when you don’t want to spread out… spread up!
Well… you get what I mean.
A 2-tiered rack will corral all of your knick-knacks and beauty supplies into one spot leaving all that pretty counter space free. Bonus points if you have a 3-tiered rack for even more supplies! I have a little portable speaker in our bathroom for playing tunes while I’m in a shower… it would look so cute in one of these little 2-tiered racks!
Plus… did you notice her soap dispenser? It’s the same one I picked up for my little bathroom refresh last week!
Hack 3: A Custom Designed Medicine Cabinet
If you have the wall space this is the perfect solution for all of those supplies that are not quite so pretty. Mouthwash, lotion, cleaning supplies… anything you don’t want to put in a pretty bottle but still want close at hand.
I love how slim the entire cabinet is though… it would be an easy addition to just about any space. It tucks right behind the door so it’s out of the way and is a great use of space.
Score!
Hack 4: An Organized Refrigerator
This one may seem like a strange tip but trust me… nothing makes you feel more like you’ve dropped off the deep end and hired a professional organizer than an organized fridge. There’s just something about your string cheese having a specialized container to make you feel fancy.
There are lots of options for containers but I love clear for in the fridge… keeps it clean and organized but you can still see exactly where everything is!
Hack 5: Organize UNDER Your Counters too!
If you think organized string cheese is fancy then just wait until you have organized trash bags.
Très chic!
It’s the little details that really add up… so decorating your room is wonderful but don’t stop at the furniture and artwork. Opening a cabinet or closet to find a neatly organized space is such a good feeling! This little cabinet took about an hour and a half to organize from start to finish… and that includes cloroxing every. single. surface.
I definitely went through all 5 songs on my playlist several times over that hour and a half… I absolutely hate cleaning dirt and grime! Luckily those sink liners should keep the area nice and dry from now on… plus they’re pretty!
Which tip was your favorite? I am loving that 2-tiered rack… I’m off to see if I can find one to organize my bathroom counter with!
In the meantime back to the tunes! Castle on the Hill is definitely my song of the summer.
