Hey y'all

I can’t believe it’s already the end of September!! That’s a whole month gone… poof! Just like that! This month was crazy blog wise… but not quite as crazy life wise! Which is good I guess! Of course my main focus this month was the big blog re-do… check out the new theme! Don’t you love it?! I love how user friendly the whole site is… now if I could just get all of my posts updated!

Thrift Store Swap Reveal #2 with Happily Ever After, Etc.Thrift Store Swap #2

It’s been exactly 86 days since the very first Thrift Store Swap Reveal… and if there’s anything I’ve learned (being a veteran swapper and all ? ) it’s too expect the unexpected! This go around we expanded the swap from the 6 fabulous ladies who started it all to a terrific group of 10! That’s almost twice the fun!! Score! … read more!

10 Gorgeous Real World Home Tours to Inspire You! with Happily Ever After Etc.10 Gorgeous Real World Home Tours to Inspire You!

We’re more focused on unpacking than we are making things pretty… which means instead of working in a pretty office with decorated walls I sit at my desk next to a pile of pictures on the floor. Blah. I’ve got the motivational blues. Every week we get a little closer to being done… but in the meantime I’ve taken to the internet to get my daily dose of pretty. Which means I’ve uncovered a bunch of gorgeous real world home tours! … read more!

Don't Be Afraid To Blush Happily Ever After, Etc.Don’t be Afraid to Blush!

Recently I’ve noticed a trend that I ABSOLUTELY love… blush! When I’m surfing Pinterest I see gorgeous rooms with blush curtains, blush blankets, couches… the list is endless! I’ve always veered away from using too much pink in our home… because I want my hubby to be just as comfortable here as I am. I did sneak just a bit into our bathroom… but I have somehow refrained from making everything else pink! (It’s been hard I deserve a medal!) … read more!

How to Refine Your Thrift Store Search with Happily Ever After EtcHow to Refine Your Thrift Store Search

Today we have a special guest post for you from the Bargain Baglady! I love guest posts because they’re an opportunity to learn about new things and to see things from a different perspective. For example… before this post I’d never heard of a thrift shop referred to as an Op Shop before! There’s always something new to learn! So without further ado… read more!

How to Make Anyplace Feel Like Home! with Happily Ever After, Etc.How to Make Anyplace Feel Like Home

A few days ago I was talking with a few friends (ok a coworker and a customer… but ultimately friends ? ) and an interesting topic came up. STUFF! No I don’t mean to be vague… you know exactly what I’m talking about! Let me explain… one friend (the customer) was explaining how he had recently started parring down his ex-wives things and how he was astounded by how much STUFF she had! What on earth did females do with so much stuff? (I can hear the sound of every man on the planet simultaneously nodding in agreement) (you boogers!) I never understood the accumulation of stuff… but I know that I have it… and that I love it! Doesn’t everyone? The times in my life where I have been without my stuff (stuffless if you will) I have been extremely sad… I can remember wailing to my husband “… read more!

When Other People Define Your Decor Style with Happily Ever After Etc.When Other People Define Your Décor Style

Yesterday I found a new website called Decorist (which actually seems pretty cool) but the point is that the first step on Decorist is to take a quiz to determine your decor style. I’ve taken lots of “decor style” quizzes… I don’t know why but I’m always curious to see what my “style” is defined as. Maybe because I don’t have one true style? … read more!

Cozy Essentials for Fall... with Happily Ever After Etc.Cozy Essentials for Fall

Ever since we moved into the new house we’ve been having major problems with our electricity bill… it’s doubled from our last home! I’m not sure if our walls are less insulated or if the hubby is turning the thermostat down when I’m not looking (he likes things chilly around here!). Either way Fall is right around the corner which means low thermostats and chilly temperatures… yikes! read more!

How to Pick a Meaningful Wedding Gift for your Husband with Happily Ever After, Etc.How to Pick a Meaningful Wedding Gift for your Husband

When I first sat down to pick a wedding gift for my soon to be hubby I knew that I wanted something that represented our lives together… not a silly trinket or small token that would later be forgotten. I wanted to pick something that he would truly cherish… and use in the upcoming months and years of our lives together… read more!

Break out the party hats because it’s my One-Year Blogiversary! Last Saturday marked a whole year (that’s 365 days!) since I first pressed publish on this little blog. This month’s Man Behind the Blog kind of snuck up on me! Not surprising though… I’ve thought it was October all month long so my sense of time is a little off! If you haven’t read a Man Behind the Blog post before this is how it works… every month Betsy from Heavens to Betsy posts 5 fabulous questions for the guys to answer. We get our guys to respond to her questions and then we head over to her blog to link-up! The best part? After hearing my hubby’s answer’s you can head over and see what all the other guys have to say!
