Alright y’all I’ve been bitten. The shiplap bug is going around and although I’ve been keeping it at bay for several years now it’s finally made it’s way past my defenses.
Yup… I finally have a great place to place a planked wall!
Behind the twin beds in the guest room I am going to place the glorious planks called shiplap… or the hubby is going to place them. I’ll hold the extra nails and tell him where to place the boards while he ignores me and puts them wherever he wants. It’s a finely honed system. 😉
The only thing left to decide is color and composition. Do I want wide planks? Skinny pallet like planks? Colorful planks? Whitewashed?
With so many options the only thing I know for sure is that boards will be involved! In order to make a decision I did what any good blogger would do… I hit Pinterest! And since I’m a generous blogger I decided to share all of my pretty finds with you!
So here are my favorite 15 planked walls!
Well? What do you think!? I’m loving all of them but the guest room is headed for a vintage vibe with just a touch of modern. So to work within that vibe I’m thinking wider planks whitewashed with various white and grey stains.
The greys should help pull the greys in the rest of the room together while providing a neutral backdrop for the sage furniture. Plus my DIY cut-glass lamp should look stellar against a grey back-drop!
What do y’all think… which shiplap is your favorite?
Love the planked walls! Definitely have been wanting to give it a try, thanks for the inspiration!
Anytime! I think the planked wall bug is spreading! Haha
Love the planked walls! I am renovating my grandmothers house and the walls and ceilings are 1930 planks that were covered with Sheetrock and ceiling tiles in the 60’s! Pulled up the carpet and found beautiful tongue and groove pine floors! What a treat! Do you happen to have an idea about the color of the tan paint in the bathroom picture?
Unfortunately I have no idea what color it is! The lighter color looks like Sherwin Williams Neutral tan while the darker bathroom looks like a taupe/Greige color… Maybe tony taupe or mega greige?! Give those a try and see what you think!
Where is the couch from?
