10 Ways to Organize your Rolling Cart! with Happily Ever After, Etc.

10 Ways to Organize your Rolling Cart!

Hey y'all

The best part about having a desk in the living room? A clear shot to the big TV and hanging out with the hubby!

The worst part about having a desk in the living room? All of my storage and fancy schmancy bookshelves are back in the craft room! When we moved houses I decided to take the desk out of the craft room since I was spending way too much time (by myself) cooped up in the office. I love the blog and working late into the night on blog posts is totally my jam… but I love it even more when I can work while hanging out with the hubby!

I’ll still do most of my creating in my craft room… once I get the darn thing organized! (I’m this close to finishing the room… my new craft cabinet puts me soooooo close!) So all I need in the living room is a little bit of real estate next to my desk for organizing my main supplies.

You know: blog binder, pens, washi tape, camera, memory cards… that kind of thing!

I absolutely love IKEA’s RÅSKOG cart (the blue one is adorable!) but instead I found an adorable little wire rolling cart at the discount store! The only thing I love more than Swedish blue utility carts is a good deal!

The only thing left to decide? How I’m going to organize this baby!

I love the delicate metalwork on this little silver cart! It’s so pretty! I also love how Hedi uses plain card-stock boxes to corral all of those little sticker sheets. When you have lots of little pieces repetitive organization can make it all blend together… then it looks cohesive, not messy! That’s awesome.

Another great idea? Magnetic containers! Most of these utility carts are made of metal… which means magnets are a no brainer. Of course sometimes the simplest solution is the one that rocks your world. These little containers are definitely in the world rocking category.

Look at all that washi! I love the roll that says “Mrs”… I know, I know… not the point! The point is that a little over the cabinet door basket for your utility cart is just about the cutest idea ever! It saves space and corrals random rolls of washi! Score!

Look at all these little tiny pieces of awesomeness. I have a bunch of these little bottles that need to be corralled so a new spot on my desk cart might be the perfect solution!

My printer still needs a home… but I think it will end up living in the hubby’s office. I want to keep this cart clean with pretty containers and basic supplies. Since I’m doing all of my heavy crafting in the craft room I don’t want to overwhelm my cart with too many supplies. The file box on this cart would be perfect next to my desk to organize all of that blog paperwork… and I love the little workstation on the top shelf!

I have so many ideas for my little cart… I hope you saw a few morsels of goodness to try in your own home!

Which cart was your favorite?
