Lately I’ve been in a major decorating rut. I think it’s because we’re in that stage of unpacking where getting rid of boxes and keeping things CLEAN is the main priority. My checklist looks like this: Cleaned off the chisel we used to crack open last nights watermelon when we couldn’t find a knife? Check! Didn’t slip on the pile of boxes in between the living room and kitchen? Check! Arrange attractive vignette on the coffee table… uhhh there’s still boxes on the coffee table! Uncheck!
We’re more focused on unpacking than we are making things pretty… which means instead of working in a pretty office with decorated walls I sit at my desk next to a pile of pictures on the floor. Blah. I’ve got the motivational blues. Every week we get a little closer to being done… but in the meantime I’ve taken to the internet to get my daily dose of pretty. Which means I’ve uncovered a bunch of gorgeous real world home tours!
Like this one from Just a Girl and her Blog! Abby is basically my business icon… she and her hubby Donnie have the kind of partnership dreams are made of. Last summer she spent a month working on her bedroom… and came out with this! A complete transformation with a gorgeous feature wall, amazing bedding and re-vamped furniture. Now that’s my kind of DIY!
As you all know (if you’ve spent five seconds here) Miss Mustard Seed is my blogging roll model… which means her home is a no-brainier when it comes to this list! I love all the blue and white she uses in her home… like the dresser in the corner of this picture or the blue and white gingham fabric on her gorgeous antique french chairs! What about the antique wardrobe in her master bedroom or the cow head over her stove! My favorite part is all of her antiques… she incorporates them so effortlessly into each room! Like I said… she’s my roll model!
I Heart Organizing has a gorgeous home… the colors and furniture are a bit more modern than I would typically lean towards… but she makes you not even care! The blue hutch in her dining room is amazing (as are that bench and the drapes) but she stuns in every room! I love her office, guest bedroom, laundry room and kids rooms… but my favorite space has to be her closet! Seriously… this closet is what dreams are made of.
Layla over at the The Lettered Cottage has a gorgeous home in a fabulous community right here in Sweet Home Alabama. I had a hard time picking a picture to accurately represent her lovely home… the wall collage in her living room is stunning, her laundry room is so much fun and I absolutely adore the room she created for her little Sweet P! I love how she combines reclaimed and re-purposed items into her home… and how she (and her hubby) haven taken a cookie cutter home and turned it into a place of their own. This fireplace is a prime example… a couple months ago it was straight out of the box and now it is an absolute masterpiece! I love those antique blue boards!
If you want a home tour that convinces you to go with your gut then look no further than the Heathered Nest! She quite boldly states that “not a single room in her house matches another room” and it really doesn’t matter… since they’re all AMAZING! I absolutely love her master bed room (check out the planked ceiling, gorgeous painting and chandelier!) but her dining room is just as dreamy! She has a giant yellow hounds-tooth rug! Awesome-sauce! What’s even better? The giant train mural in her little boys room!
When scrolling through my Pinterest boards I found so many rooms that I loved, that I pinned… and they all said Liz Marie Blog at the bottom! To me that’s a pretty good indication that this gal has a rockin’ blog I should probably check out! I love the peaceful colors she uses throughout her home… check out those neutrals speckled with aqua! Fantastic! Plus… I love anything with a fake deer head so that definitely helped!
I could never pull off a completely neutral room like this one from Thrifty and Chic! She uses neutral colors fabulously… in a mixture of texture that plays together perfectly! Plus there’s a street lamp in her nursery that you won’t want to miss!
When I first discovered Pinterest (some 4 odd years ago) this bathroom was one of the first pictures I came across. I loved the blue wall color, bead-board wainscoting, claw-foot tub and sink… gorgeous! Now I know that this amazing room is one of the many gorgeous rooms from Thistlewood Farms! I absolutely love the way she mixes traditional elements with elegant color. Her guest room is amazing… and her children’s rooms are so beautifully done!
The combination of white and aqua in this room makes my heart sing. Actually everything at the Shabby Creek Cottage makes my heart sing! I love her quirky sense of humor, pops of gold and hints of aqua! The way she mixes everything together is stunning… I love the collage above her dining room table, the lockers in her kitchen and the pattern of her outdoor rug on the patio!
I think I love every single room in the Centsational Girls house! My favorite part is her rug collection… she has a fabulous rug in every single room! You might have seen this gorgeous grey and white rug in my master bedroom… I first fell in love with it here and just couldn’t shake it! i just had to have one for myself! Her sitting room is so peaceful and I love all the glamorous silver accents she uses!
This bathroom makeover by Dwelling in Happiness is truly inspiring! Especially if you’ve seen the before and afters… it’s a true eye opener. I love how she made such a difference without changing the architectural components of the room… she didn’t knock down any walls or install a million dollar soak-er tub… with a little bit of paint, a few fantastic accessories and a lot of elbow grease she made a huge impact! Her bedroom isn’t too shabby either 😉 I love the white and gray color palette!
Did you catch super awesome bonus tour 11? Yup snuck that one in there… there were so many gorgeous rooms once I started searching! I just couldn’t leave one out! After all of those gorgeous rooms I really just want to hop up and decorate something! Unfortunately it’s 10:50 at night… my hubby might hurt me if I start hanging pictures now. Maybe tomorrow…
