Starting a new garden can be intimidating... you don't know where to start, you're not sure what to do and you're ready for things to be GROWN now. Let's start at the beginning and walk through creating this garden bed from start to finish.
Let's start at the beginning...

Before you jump in and start planting things think through your space: how wide will the beds be, what types of plants do you want to have? This will help you plan your space!
Lay it Out! We used an old hose to lay out the edge of the flower bed for scale!
Add Flowers!
Now's the fun part... adding colorful flowers to fill in the beds!

This will define your border and hold in your compost or mulch. There are plenty of options for edging... I picked this black metal border.

Whether you're using a traditional mulch or compost as a mulch let's go ahead and add a top coat to the garden! This will help keep moisture in the ground and protect plant roots from heat. Plus... it looks pretty!

Your garden will take make years to mature... this first year you may have empty spots where things need to grow. Annuals are great space fillers until things get bigger... but whether you pack your space with blooms or let it breath a lot can happen in 1 year.
