It’s that time of year again… the season of giving and fun we call the holidays! I absolutely love using my Cricut and even though I received this bad boy last Christmas I’m still learning all of the fun things i can use it for.
Of course, I had so. many. ideas. of cute Christmas presents I could make… so that’s where I started. I wanted to make a sweet and sassy present for my step-mom and she absolutely loves wine so wine glasses were the perfect present!
I scoured the web/Target/Pinterest/asked friends for sassy wine puns and maybe I just love a good pun but I thought these were particularly punny.
I’m half-convinced I could win a good dad-joke competition.
Anyways we’re getting besides the point… we’re making sassy DIY wine glasses! The best part? I’m partnering up with 13 other bloggers who know how to make amazing things with their Cricut for a little Christmas Cricut Party!! Scroll to the bottom of the post to see what other fun projects we have in store for you (and if Cricut’s are your thing stay tuned because this Cricut party is about to become a monthly thing).
Materials:
- Stemless Wine Glasses (I picked stemless but really you can use any size or shape you like!)
- Cricut Explore Air 2
- Fine-Point Cutting Blade
- Standard Cutting Mat (that’s the green one!)
- Foiled Vinyl
- Transfer Tape
- Weeding Tool
- XL Scraper Tool
- Cricut Cut Files
That’s it folks!! Let’s get cracking!
Ready to jump right in? Get started by grabbing your cricut cut files here and then press “make it”. This particular file has four sayings: Cheers, I’m on Cloud Wine, Rose All Day and Wine About It.
The steps to cut foil vinyl are the same as any cut file but I always need a refresher course so I pulled up my how to cut glitter vinyl with the cricut post to follow along. Maybe one day I’ll have this down like the back of my hand but for now I still needed a few refreshers!
I always love to watch this baby cut… especially foils! They’re just so pretty!!
Need help picking your perfect machine? I’ve got you covered!
These particular fonts are very small and delicate so make sure that you’re careful when moving to the transfer tape… maybe I’m missing a step but this took a while for me. I had to use my little weeding tool to make sure each and every last swirl transferred.
I definitely wouldn’t use a super sticky mat for this one!
I don’t know about y’all but I absolutely love how these turned out!! I hope my step mother loves them… they took quite a while to make! Of course, now they have to make the cross country trip to Colorado… wish them luck!
I filled them with packing peanuts and surrounded them with those little bags of air but I’m still worried they’ll break!
Yikes!
