It’s been a little crazy around here lately… mainly because we’re in the middle of a move! Which would be a little more convincing if we had packed even a single box. Unfortunately we’ve been so busy that we’ve done nothing.
Nada.
Not a darn thing.
The moving date is quickly approaching though so I sat down and created a moving planner to walk you through the entire moving process. Because apparently a new planner is the solution for everything. Planner’s are the best because they keep you motivated and on-track. Which is perfect when you’re trying to juggle working a full time job, blogging full time and a family.

As an army brat I have moved a million times… literally. Okay maybe not a million but we did move once a year until I was 12 so it really felt like a million. We moved after 12 too but not every year, thank goodness!
All of that moving taught me that being organized was very important. I can remember moving as a little girl and my Mama labeling countless boxes, furniture, rooms… everything. She is the queen of moving and knows that everything is easier if you take the time to organize it before you move!
When we moved to North Carolina I think I was 10 and the moving crew was not 100% present. They just were not on top of it… and as a little girl I wanted to know what every body was doing so I basically followed them around being nosy.
Which is how I found one of the movers attempting to put the screws labeled “girls bed” on the bed labeled “boys bed” in the room labeled “boys room”.
Honestly it’s just not that hard y’all.
But with that specific exception the labels usually were very helpful and the moves went very smoothly for my mama with two young kids. Daddy was usually already off to work leaving her to handle everything… an army wife’s job is never done.
Use our Printable Stickers to Label those Boxes!
I love the way Mama use to label each and every box with a crayon or a marker but to make my move (and yours) a bit easier I’ve designed 31 coordinating sticker sheets to label everything. That gives you solid stickers to organize each room by color or patterned stickers to organize by pattern (the kitchen may be the pink flower and the living room may be the blue heart) just make sure to label every door in the new house so that every one knows the system.
Then it’s just matching each box to each door! The larger stickers have room to write each rooms name and the contents of the box while the smaller stickers are to put on tiny items that may not have a lot of surface area.
Boom.
It’s going to be awesome.
I ordered a bunch of sticker paper online and the hubby is printing these babies for me. You can get 100 blank sticker sheets for 18 dollars so that’s pretty darn good… or at least I thought it was! I’ll share a fun post on how I’m organizing my boxes once I start packing the darn things.
Keep Track of the Moving Quotes and Companies
The other thing I need to do? Get on top of talking to moving companies. I am moving in a month and a half y’all… send help. I need to get 2 or 3 moving quotes so we can decide what we can afford to get packed… and what I need to start packing myself.
Budget Worksheets Y’all!
I also whipped up a few budget worksheets because we are definitely doing this thing on a budget! Even if you aren’t on a budget it’s good to keep track of your expenses so there aren’t any surprises on moving day.
Don’t Forget to Change Your Address!
Y’all remember how I told you my mama was the queen of moving? She did not pass on that gene to me which is (why she’s helped me whip up these printables… and why I need the printable in the first place!). Although we’ve perfected moving… this will be our third move in the three years we’ve been married so we’re rocking the one year a move thing.
What I have not perfected is changing my address with every move. We’ve been in our current hme for two years and my Mama still gets mail for us at her house. Where we lived for 3 months.
Yup.
On top of the Change of Address worksheet there’s a printable for switching all of your services from the old house to the new house. Although I think the cute little postcard may be my favorite. We definitely need to send these to all our friends stat!
If you grab the entire Moving Planner here’s everything included… the entire kit and caboodle! Just remember you will need special sticker paper to print the stickers (or you can tape these babies right to the box with a bit of scotch tape!). The postcard template works perfectly with a site like vistaprint… or print it yourself and place in an envelope as a card!
