Whether you have one pet or six (technically we have 6 dogs and 2 cats but the cats have way less stuff so they don’t count!) chances are you have the same problem… pet supplies. The leashes and toys, food bowls and pet beds… all the things that start to take over your house!
Your furry little friends need these things (especially their water bowl and pet bed!) just imagine if someone took your bed away.
Not cool.
Since the pet supplies are here to stay they need to fit seamlessly into our existing homes so that they don’t stick out like a sore thumb. Which is why incorporating pet supplies into your home decor is so important!
Whether you have a brand new pet or have had the same silver water dish in the middle of your kitchen floor for the past 20 years here are my favorite 5 pet supplies that will help your furry friend exist with the household instead of alongside the household.
Pet Beds
Your pets bed may be the most important thing on this list… because it’s probably the biggest. Your little furry friend wants to be where you are. Which means no matter how often you try to put baby in a corner (ha!) that pet bed ends up front and center.
So we need a bed that has style (for you), comfort (for your furry friend) and quality (for your budget). With 6 dogs and 2 cats we learned a long time ago that your pet beds need to be machine washable OR have a cover… this is non-negotiable.
So pick a pet bed that flows seamlessly into the rest of your decor (like this taupe LaZBoy bed in front of our couch) but that can be cleaned in a standard washer.
This bed has a cover so that the whole thing can be cleaned… which is great with these little rug rats! This bed is big enough for 4 of our dogs to sprawl on it at the same time so it’s about as big as a piece of furniture! I don’t know about y’all but I rarely stick my furniture in the washing machine so I’m already in love with this bed.
You take great care to pick out beautiful pieces of furniture for your home so make sure you take the same care to pick out a few luxury dog beds that matches your home decor.

Food and Water Bowls
Dogs have very few pet supplies that need to be out all. the. time. Items like treats, leashes and coats can be hidden away if they’re not in use.
Not the case when it comes to a food and water bowl.
At the very least your pets water bowl will need to be easily accessible… and easily accessible often translates into front and center. (And tripped over… I am always kicking the water dish).
So pick a pretty set of dishes (like this set of hammered copper bowls) or build your existing bowls into a solution that fits your decor. A little diy food organizer is an easy project with an antique box… and it will fit perfectly into many home decor styles!
Including mine *wink wink*
Of course, if antiques aren’t your thing a simple box painted in a solid color is an easy solution that will fit into your color scheme.
Do you have bigger dogs? Try making this DIY dog food station with a dresser instead of a nightstand! It’s a pretty easy project that works perfectly to keep your dog food and pet supplies in one place.
Not to mention since you’ll be DIYing all the fixtures you can paint it to match your room!
Score!
Pet Supplies
Okay this one is fairly self explanatory… the easiest way to corral all of those little plastic toys and random pet supplies is with a cute basket.
There are dozens of pet themed baskets on the market so look for one that matches your existing decor. I have a cute little blue basket that says “DOG LOVER” on the front but for a truly seamless look try to find a basket that isn’t meant for dog supplies at all.
A cute little chicken wire basket would be perfect for the farmhouse vibe while a white cube shaped container would fit in with a modern house.
Pet Supplies to Organize in a Basket:
- Toys
- Treats
- Grooming Supplies
- Toothbrush
- Litter scoops
- Pet Clothes
- Leashes
- Bones
BONUS TIP: Find the full tutorial for this cute little “Change Litter” basket right here. It’s a fairly simple tutorial but it includes the free SVG so you can make one for your own bathroom!
Outdoor Water Bowl
Let’s go outside for a moment… there’s no reason your dogs have to drink out of plastic dog dish just because they’re outside. They still need a water bowl though… especially if you’re in a hot state like we are.
Alabama is a beast y’all.
A low profile bird bath is the perfect water bowl for your yard! It’s sturdy, it looks beautiful… it’s meant to be outside and it holds a lot of water. So you’ll only have to fill it up once a week or so.
Pet Stairs for Smaller Animals
Okay y’all let’s think about this for a minute… dachshunds are literally known for their tiny legs! They’re small dogs… and my yorkie isn’t much bigger.
Which means these little guys (and girls) have a hard time getting onto the couch in the living room… and the bed in the bedroom. Pet stairs are the perfect solution… unfortunately most pet stairs are downright hideous.
The plastic snap-together ones? No thank you!
There are plenty with fun patterns though… so take a look for a set of stairs that will fit into your room. We have a set by the couch that has a swirly damask pattern (that is very forgiving since the dogs like to chew on them!) and solid gray set in the bedroom.
