Amid all of the home decor talk around here y’all have heard me talk about football a time of two… the hubby and I are die hard football fans! Unfortunately he roots for the wrong team… and no amount of educating can convince him to join the winning side ;).
Of course with the playoff’s well under way our house is truly divided as his team and mine prepare to face-off in a playoff game this Sunday! Which means lots of yelling, cheering and the ultimate level of bragging rights for the winner! An entire year’s worth of bragging!
We’ve got to win this!
Of course the best part of any party is the decorating… and my hubby personally requested his very own snack stadium!
Since I’ve never made a snack stadium before I set out with a little hesitation and a lot of determination!! Now that I’ve figured it out I’m here to share a fun little DIY tutorial with all of y’all!
Aren’t you lucky?

Isn’t it fabulous? Our family always makes nachos for the big game… it’s the perfect game day dinner! Fast and easy yet filing! Of course my favorite part are the TOSTITOS®… I don’t know what it is but I absolutely love tortilla chips!
Mom use to ration them out so that I wouldn’t eat the whole bag! Now I am an adult with plenty of self control! 😉
Yup all that means is that I can buy my own bag and no one can stop me from eating the whole darn thing! Ha!
By now I’m sure you’re dying to make your own snack stadium… here are the instructions!
Step 1:
Find a box that looks about the right size for your snack stadium! We got lucky and used a box left over from Christmas… the only one that escaped trash day ;). Ours was a little too tall so we left one of the Styrofoam pieces in the bottom.
Of course you don’t have to use Styrofoam… the main goal is to place the “field” at a decent height! You don’t want to fill the whole box with treats! A smaller box in the bottom would work… or a flat piece of Tupperware! Be creative!
Since our piece of Styrofoam wasn’t solid all the way across the hubster stapled a piece of tinfoil across the bottom. (Read as: the hubby just got a new staple gun and wanted to try it out. You will find a lot of unnecessary staples in this project).
Step 2:
Fold the box flaps inside your box… cut the corners at a 45 degree angle so that they fit snugly at an incline. You’ll notice a generous amount of scotch tape holding our sides in place… that’s because we cut them off before we realized the whole thing would be easier with the sides attached.
Learn from our mistakes!
Side Note: Cutting the 45 degree angles was easier than I thought it would be. We cut one flap and then inserted it into the box… then instead of measuring the second angle we inserted the second side into the box and marked where it met the first side… then cut! Easy peazy!
Step 3:
Cover the entire box with tinfoil! This step might not be necessary… but it sure is pretty! I didn’t want our snack stadium to be made of cardboard so I decided tinfoil would cleverly mask the sides.
Plus I was able to craft little tinfoil dividers in the corners of my box! I simply folded pieces of tinfoil and then stapled them into place! (Yes this is where things got a little crazy with the staples!)
Step 4:
Fill your stadium with a few of your favorite game day treats! In addition to our favorite TOSTITOS® Nachos we decided to go with SNICKERS®, Skittles®, Pepsi™ and Salsa!
(That last one is for the hubby… he just loves salsa! I’m good with anything chocolate… so the SNICKERS® were my pick!).
That’s it! Now that your snack stadium is filled with goodies you’re ready to party!
Now that’s the fastest party decor I’ve ever thought of!
