We are knee deep in our second makeover in two months so things are just a tad bit crazy over here! Of course, the craziness at my house means awesome posts for y’all! I cannot wait until this makeover is completely finished… but in the mean time the progress is so much better!
It’s amazing what a little bit of paint can do.
On the other hand if you’re loving my makeover from this month just wait until next month. May is going to be an office makeover (we are kicking butt and taking names over here y’all, this house is going to be finished if it’s the last thing I do!).
The tall white bookshelves just arrived from Overstock last week and if the weight of the boxes is anything to go by these babies are going to be a-m-a-zing. I can’t wait to put them together and decorate them.
Just take a look at what we’re thinking:
I can’t wait!
In the meantime let’s look back at all of our posts from April.

How to Install Glass Backsplash
Before we get started with all the fun tile saw info (because you can’t cut glass tile without a tile saw ? ) let’s take a quick look at what we’re working with. Do you remember how green this kitchen was just a week ago? In the first week we went ahead and painted the kitchen cabinets and let me tell you it made alllllll the difference. Don’t believe me?
Painted Kitchen Cabinet Makeover
Our walls are painted Sherwin Williams Online so I picked Site White (the lightest color on the strip) for the cabinets. On the chip it looks like a light gray but on the wall… definitely white! Luckily I wanted white cabinets and had gone with gray because of the white subway tile we had picked out.
Someone *cough cough* convinced me smoke blue subway tile in a rental was not neutral enough… well I guess I won in the end because the new white cabinets mean a shift in the subway tile. That’s right y’all, I’m getting my smoke tiles!
*swoon*
How to Upcycle a Washi Tape Holder
If you’re anything like me you’re a little bit obsessed with the small decorative tape trend that is washi tape. It’s inexpensive and it comes in a million different color/pattern combinations. Basically it’s a cafters dream! Which is why I am so excited to share my latest project… how to upcycle a washi tape holder!
The best part of the whole project? It’s actually my latest Thrift Store Swap Reveal!
White, Blue & Gray: a Neutral Kitchen Mood Board
It’s like a horrible version of Christmas… all year long *shutter* but not for very long! After Haven I have a project list a mile long and this Kitchen is at the forefront of my to-do list!
Hopefully this time next week my cabinets will go from green and red to white, blue and gray!
How to DIY a 2-Tiered Tray
Molly from Just a little Creativity was just before me in the loop so she sent me two fun little projects! In addition to the little wooden box we transformed last week she also sent these 2 wooden trays.
I automatically thought of making these little guys into wall art but honestly… I have more wall art then I can even use. My closet is literally full of random paintings that I have no wall space for. So instead I imagined other uses for these little guys.. and I decided on a two tiered tray for a little extra storage in my craft room.
17 Room Makeover’s to Inspire You
This month I’m participating in the One Room Challenge hosted by Calling it Home which is basically spending 6 weeks to completely transform one room of your home! Six short weeks y’all. Six weeks.
As of now we’re on week two so everyone’s just getting started… demo, picking sofa’s, ordering rugs. The whole nine yards.
It’s the most exciting part of the entire makeover! All the anticipation of what could be. The best part of the One Room Challenge is there’s so many participants. Typically over 300 people join together to make over one room in their homes… that’s kind of cool!

It seems like y’all are just as excited to decorate with bunnies and eggs as I am… I mean just take a look at all of these amazing projects!
5 Sweet Updates for Spring
It’s almost time for Easter! Which means spring is officially underway… and I’m having an absolute blast doing a little bit of spring cleaning. The best part? I’m not the only one… I found quite a few projects showcasing updates for spring at this weeks Welcome Home Wednesday Link Party!
I mean that’s the best part of spring cleaning right? Updating your home with fun little touches to bring the outside summer breezes inside. Of course, sometimes a spring update can just be a fun new project… like this fun DIY Bakery sign inspired by Fixer Upper.
Should I Replace my Light Switch Covers?
In some cases there is an easy, black and white, answer to the question: should I replace my light switch covers? My light switch covers? They’re cracked and broken… they definitely need replacing!
Of course, my light switch covers had breaks at the edges. That’s a tad bit better than a crack running directly through the middle of the electrical components (where dust can go directly into the outlet). However, even an edge crack allows dust and gunk to build up within the wall. Definitely not good.
