Every single day I get emails with the same questions and reactions “what’s with the planner stickers?” “why are you so obsessed with your planner” or “I didn’t know the planning world was so big!” Well the planning world is huge and there are so many things to track in your planner that you probably haven’t even thought of.
I am absolutely obsessed with my planner and after today… you may be too! Planners are great for so many things besides just writing in a weekly schedule. After all, if you look at a planner every single day it’s the perfect place to keep track of all. the. little. things.
So here’s the master list: complete with pictures!
Personal
It is your planner after all… why not track all of your personal habits? I like to keep habit trackers in my side bar for taking pills, writing in my diary, promoting social media for sponsored posts or even giving the dog her meds.
Do you see my tiny habit trackers in the bottom left corner up above? I was tracking cat litter scooping that week! Hey, we went from 3 litter boxes to 1 so scooping was super important.
I know several planner friends who like to write out a weekly inspirational quote in their planner or Bible verse. With different sections a planner can be the perfect place for a bit of daily journaling.

Schedules
This one may be the easiest one to think of… keeping a schedule in a planner is kind of the whole point! Of course, keep in mind that unless you live alone there are other schedules to take into account.
- Work Schedule
- Class Schedule
- Upcoming Vacations
- Spouse Schedule
- Children’s Schedules
Money & Bills
There are so many ways to keep track of your finances in a planner that there are people who use specific finance planners! I like to keep everything in one place so that I don’t miss anything or forget a bill.
The little bill due rose gold foiled stickers from Notes and Clips are my favorite because they go with almost every spread and let me keep track of my most important bills… then I can create a checklist for the rest. I think next year I am going to utilize a dept pay off tracker as well. I’m working on raising my credit!

- Pay Off Debt Tracker
- Track Due Dates for Bills
- Pay Day Tracker
Health & Wellness
A planner is a great place to track the day to day aspects of your health such as what you’re making for dinner, how much water you’re drinking every day or even your period. A quick note each month makes medical history so much easier, especially if you start to struggle with infertility.
I am trying so hard to quit drinking soda so. dang. much. (I am obsessed with diet coke!) A little soda each day is one thing but the hubs and I went through a 12 pack in one day! So we cut back on the soda and started tracking our water intake. How cute is that little h2O mason jar tracker up above? I love that it has spots for all 7 days of the week on one sticker, 8 glasses of water a day!

- Food Diary

- Medicine Tracker
Memory Keeping
The best things to keep track of are the memories. I am often asked why I worry so much about stickers for each week of my planner and the answer is the memories… it’s a way to scrapbook each week as it happens. The little details now like catching lunch with your sister or watching a movie with your hubby become the big stuff later on.
I have believed this for a long time but since losing my husband I am so glad of my memory keeping, I have photos, videos, his handwriting, our date nights and lunches all written down. Those memories are precious to me now beyond anything else.

Home & Family
It’s so easy to keep track of all the day to day things in a planner but why not track the yearly events too? You won’t need facebook to remind you of birthdays if you already have them penciled in for next year… plus if you have them written in ahead of time you can be that awesome friend who mails cards in time for people’s birthdays!
I mean it’s worth a shot…
