The very first month of 2016 is coming to a close… so it’s time for a January Round-Up! I’ve checked so many projects off of my to-do list this month… and every time I start to feel like I’m accomplishing something I remember five other projects I need to complete!
Does that happen to any of you?
Two steps forward… one step back! Oh well… at least the steps are being taken! The guest room and craft room are soooo close to being completed! I can almost taste it!!
Then I just have to get the pictures up on the walls… why is that always the hardest part?

How to Get the Best Deals from the Thrift Store!
As the cost of just about everything rises, more and more people are looking for bargains. If you don’t have an aversion to recycled stuff and know how to look, thrift stores are a great way to get quality items that are gently used (or even new) for rock-bottom prices.
Check out these tips to get the most out of your next shopping spree…
An Antique (Blue) Craft Cabinet Makeover for the Fab Furniture Flippin Contest!
What do you do when your coworker casually pulls out her phone and offers you a gorgeous (albeit a bit run-down) giant antique storage cabinet? You re-furbish it for the Fab Furniture Flippin Contest!
This is my first time participating in the contest and I’m so excited to work with this group of talented ladies!
How to Build a Tostitos Nacho Snack Stadium!
Amid all of the home decor talk around here y’all have heard me talk about football a time of two… the hubby and I are die hard football fans! Unfortunately he roots for the wrong team… and no amount of educating can convince him to join the winning side ;).
Of course with the playoff’s well under way our house is truly divided as his team and mine prepare to face-off in a playoff game this Sunday! Which means lots of yelling, cheering and the ultimate level of bragging rights for the winner! An entire year’s worth of bragging!
We’ve got to win this!
Of course the best part of any party is the decorating… and my hubby personally requested his very own snack stadium!
Guest Bedroom Inspiration… Navy and Sea Glass!
I have the absolute best husband in the world! While many women received fantastic gifts over the holiday season I received the best gift of all…. a brand new guest room set! My hubby knows my taste very well and went out on a limb to purchase a very nice twin bed set for our guest room… all under the cloak of darkness. AKA I had absolutely no clue about any of it!
A Look Back at our Best 10 Posts of 2015!
It’s been a great Christmas vacation but I’m so glad to be back for my very first post of 2016!! How weird does that sound?
The best part of a new year is getting to see how much we accomplished in the last year! (Ok looking forward and making plans is fun too… but I really like reflecting!). We moved to our new house in 2015… and I’m proud to say we’re almost done unpacking! Only 3 boxes left…. I’ve got a slew of room reveals ready for y’all in the new year!

How to Create a New Custom Slipcover from an Old Ratty Slipcover!
Over a year and a half ago… back when I first started this blog… one of my first posts was a to-do list for our little house. On the top of the list? New slip covers!! It took months to track down the perfect fabric and even longer to actually sit down at the sewing machine… but they’re finally done!
Of course, sewing a slipcover is the easy part (if you know how to sew! If you don’t you can always out source the sewing like I did… Mom was a semi-willing participant ? ). The hard part is sewing a slipcover if you don’t have a pattern to follow!
It’s all about the Details… Hand Painted Dresser Details!
It feels like I’ve been painting non-stop since last week… between my coffee table, side tables, kitchen table and brand new storage cabinet it seems like everything needs a fresh coat of paint!
Come to think of it the dressers in my bedroom have seen better days as well…
Anyways. I’ve taken a moment to put down my paint brush because… I’m stumped. I have a brand new storage cabinet that I absolutely love… but I’m not sure what to do with all the detail work. Don’t worry… I won’t leave you guessing. Here’s a little sneak peek!
Chalk Paint… Coffee Table Makeover!
Apparently I’m on a furniture painting kick this week! Since we had a ton of chalk paint left over from this months Fab Flippin Furniture Contest I decided to go ahead with a little coffee table makeover!
The second best part?
I won a stencil from the fabulous blogger (Iris!) from Iris Nacole! I was so excited when I won… because I knew exactly what to do with my new snazzy stencil!
Kitchen Reveal!
After 6 months it’s finally time for my first room reveal in our new house! We’re starting with the Kitchen Reveal… that way we can save the best for last! ?
As far as our little kitchen has come I still have a deep seated hatred for the green cabinets and red counters… it’s like Christmas up in here!
Oh well… some things you can change and some you have to learn to love! With the new grey walls and fabulous slipcovers this little kitchen has come a long way!
3 Valentines Day Projects to Make with Heart Doilies!
With Valentines Day right around the corner it’s time to whip up a little bit of crafty magic! I don’t know if it’s the memory of carefully hand-making little tiny Valentines for all my friends but something about this holiday always has me reaching for the glue stick!
This year I had an extra reason to whip out the crafting supplies… a fun little DIY Blog Hop thought up by the fabulous Erlene from My Pinterventures! She’s rounded up 14 fantastic bloggers (myself included! Oh la la!) to participate in this very special Valentines Day celebration!
