Weddings are all unique… the venue, the flowers, the dress, the cake! In a world filled with gorgeous white dresses (that all look oh-so similar) one specific dress will be unique enough to speak to you.
Of course the only other specifically unique part of your wedding are your people. Your little sister standing next to you as your maid-of-honor, your best friend standing next to you as your groom, your brand new mother-in-law… the one you still haven’t quite gotten to know but want to thank for the greatest gift of all… her child.
Each of these people is 100% unique and the differences that make them are as unique as the reasons you love them. They deserve a wedding gift as unique as your relationship!
Have you ever thought about what makes you… you? Or rather what makes each of your friends uniquely them. A monogrammed tie clip is nice and all but wouldn’t you rather give your father an emotional gift that tugs at the heart strings?
Here are a few gifts for your uniquely special, uniquely different, utterly important wedding party! Of course if you’re not sure who to include on your gift list here’s a printable checklist… so you don’t forget a single person.
Personalized Handkerchief
My Daddy and I had a special saying… a goodnight ritual we performed every single night from the time I was a tiny little girl until the day I left for college. If you have a special quote or saying a lovely gift is a personalized handkerchief!
I had our special goodnights sewn onto a handkerchief for Daddy to put in his suit pocket. He carried it with him the entire day and once the wedding had finished he was able to frame it at home. I found mine at a little Etsy shop called the Orange Monogram and y’all this gal is amazing. I left ordering gifts to the last minute (I’m forgetful like that) and she was able to complete my order with more than enough time left! Score!
Memory Box
If you’re anything like me you’ve collected little bits and bobs of all kinds over the years. Movie tickets, letters, photos, favorite songs… taking all of these memories and corralling them into a memory box is a sentimental gift for anyone who’s been in your life over a period of time.
This would be prefect for a sibling or lifelong friend who you’ve spent years building memories with!
Monogrammed Leather Bible or Journal
This gift might be my absolute favorite, my gift to my future husband. If you have a partner, parent or friend who you would love to gift a new bible… this is the perfect occasion.
The hubby had been asking for a new monogrammed bible for several years so I decided that our wedding day was the perfect time. I had it monogrammed with our wedding date and married names… many years ago a marriage was recorded in the family bible. That tradition is still near and dear to my heart so I specifically looked for a bible where marriages, children and other special days could be recorded.
Of course if your hubby already has a bible that he loves a bible cover might be the perfect solution! On the other hand if a bible isn’t right a monogrammed journal can be just as personal without the religious aspect.
First Dance or Favorite Song Lyric Canvas
This would be a perfect present for either the bride or grooms parents! Pick a sentimental photo (maybe a childhood photo of you and your parent) and have the lyrics for your mother/son or father/daughter dance printed directly onto the canvas.
Of course lyrics to a special song with a friend, mother of the bride or even father of the groom would be perfect as well. I love this idea since it will live on long after the wedding!
Reference to a Shared Love or an Inside Joke
The best part about being unique? You and your besties probably have a hobby or interest that is your thing. At every sleepover from middle school through college my best friends and I watched Lord of the Rings and ate something with tomatoes!
I absolutely hate tomatoes but her Mom would put so much effort into making spaghetti or lasagna or salad… after so many years there was no way we could reveal the tomato hatred so I continue to eat them and the besties and I find it quite the tradition.
The hubby has similar experiences with Harry Potter and his friends… so for his groomsmen gift he decided to give his guys Harry Potter pocket watches!
My brother was quite enamored with his… that’s his hand in the photo above! He wanted a picture with his new watch! I wish you could see the back… it’s engraved with the deathly hallows symbol!
