A few weeks ago I sat down to think about everything I wanted to include in our guest room makeover… a shopping list if you will. Or maybe a project list since most of the items require a little bit of work!
Does that happen to anyone else? When your shopping list turns into a project list? Whether it’s making a DIY basket for free instead of buying the $20 version or making my very own cardboard elephant head when I couldn’t find the perfect print I always end up making things where other people buy them!

So I was super excited when I realized I could put together a little guest room jar with minimal effort on my part! Plus it should be super helpful for my guests… well if they’re anything like me it will be super helpful. I don’t know about y’all but I can’t seem to go anywhere without forgetting at least one item… whether it’s shampoo or the case for my contacts you can guarantee at least one item won’t make it’s way into my toiletry bag!
Which means asking my friend to borrow her brush or searching frantically for her bottle of shampoo when I realize that I’ve forgotten mine in the shower (why do I never realize the shampoo is missing until I’m in the shower?).
So I’ve thought ahead and put together a cute little guest room jar for my friends and family! I’m sure I won’t think of everything but with most of the bases covered my friends won’t have to go looking very far to replace their forgotten supplies!
Step 1:
Here’s the scoop! I started with a simple glass jar that would fit snugly on my dresser’s top. Then I picked up a package of stickers from the craft store… any stickers will do but make sure they have a clear background if you want your jar to stay transparent.
Once you’ve picked your perfect sticker it’s time to put it on your jar! I loved the navy color of this sticker… isn’t it perfect for my navy and sage room? Plus the quote is killer: “Kindness is the greatest wisdom.”
Step 2:
Now that you’ve picked a sticker all you have to do is place it on your jar… just be careful when you’re peeling your sticker off the sheet. I might have torn a bit of the K taking the sticker off the sheet… whoops! Luckily the transparent background allowed me to splice the letters back together quite easily!
Step 3:
That’s it! You’re done!
Wasn’t that the easiest craft ever? Now all you need to do is fill your little jar with supplies! I did a little search through the linen closet for extra supplies to start my jar off with… here’s the roster!
Supplies:
Hairbrush
Lotion
Contact Solution & New Clean Case
New Toothbrush
Band-Aids
Aleve
Little Bottle of Hairspray
Bobby Pins
Soap
Shampoo & Conditioner
Make-Up Remover
